Bought this for my 2 year old son as he wasn't happy with reins anymore and this was the perfect solution. You can attach the rein which is so handy for the times when they are just too independent to hold your hand!
He loved it straight away and felt very grown up with his rucksack and carrys his drink and snacks in it, he wont leave the house now without it, need I say more.

Can't say enough good things about this product. We used reins with first child - so she got used to not holding hands and then to running off. With this arm-strap harness, you can hold your toddler's hand and slip the 'leash' up your arm just in case you/they let go. My toddler holds on to the buggy as he walks round town and I have no worries about him getting distracted and running. Another great thing is that there is a handle at the top of the rucksack/harness - so when we're getting on trains, I can just lift him (painlessly) over the gap with the handle, rather than carrying him, so he can keep walking.
The wrist strap is enormous, though - apart from that, this is a quality product.

We were initially looking for a set of reigns for our 18-month old son Jake and stumbled upon this in our searches. It's a great little item and I think my son loves it and feels more grown up when we put it on him. It does what it says on the tin as it's a mini daysack with a clip on single leash style reign. My only negative would be that it's a bit too big for Jake but not so much so that it won't work and Jake is smaller than the average 18-month toddler. Great product and highly recommended.

My son was born with talipese(like club foot)he will soon be 4.He needed to be in a buggie, couldnt walk far & he would fall over all the time. But he is to big for the buggie & he wanted to be a big boy & walk. But jake is very active,& would try to run off.I found the toddler run about daysack on amazon, jake thinks hes a big boy because hes walking & when we go to the shops he likes to put his little shopping in his bag!I no hes safe cause he can not run of,he cant slip out of it & it didnt cost a arm & a leg.If there was 1 thing i could change, that would be to make the straps other the shoulders and the body a tiny bit bigger, the lead at the back of the bag is a good lenght. Its nice now because jake now will have his bag on but has desided he also likes to hold mummys hand!THANK YOU x

The bag has been ideal for us. My three year old uses it for carrying around his medication, Epipens, Piriton, inhaler etc as he has a severe allergy to egg and diary, plus suffering from asthma.

What an excellent idea. My 2 1/2 yr old son loves it, really good quality and excellent value for money. It will make my life my easier now to get out and about with my 5month old baby and my son.

I was going on holiday with an 11month old & nearly 3year old...I needed something to reassure the safety of my older son - isaac...and I hate reins. This has been perfect.
Isaac loved strapping on the rucksack - and he was such a wee dude with it on. The strap clips on at the nape of the neck - so can be easily taken off & put on. And although the parent side of the strap is quite a large stiff circle, we didn't mind as we usually hung it over his little brothers buggy handle.
We did get one elderly woman tutting when she saw him tethered to the buggy - but that was at a time when I stopped to put something in the bin, and Isaac wanted to wander away - so in my opinion, this temporary control does exactly that - keeps control temporary! -Isaac does have road sense, but with a toddler and a baby, we could have him being curious & adventurous!!
We plan to keep using the bag - with & without the strap, where appropriate!

I bought his product for my granddaughter (why is it given the title 'boys backpack'?). She loves it and the 'loop' was very useful when she started walking and often just ran off in any direction as she's very dynamic. It still fits her now she's 36 months. The backpack is sturdy, strong and comfortable for a small child. I found it through mumsnet where it had excellent evaluations which were justified. It is a really good buy for people especially if they have two children and may have a rebellious 2 year old!
My one disappointment is that my daughter will not put the long rein on as she thinks it is like having a dog on a lead. My daughter has a cultural attitude towards putting reins on a child which is very French (we live in France). The French do not put reins on their children! My disappointment therefore does not have anything to do with the product but with my daughter's attitude. I don't interfere and my granddaughter holds my hand now but my daughter is expecting a second baby - so who knows - she might start using the rein!!
