I have a read a few of Casey's books now and they make for an upsetting but gripping read. This one tells the story of six year old Darby who they take in over Christmas and who was abused by her parents. At times I was almost crying reading this book. It was a short read but packed a punch.
I got this as a freebie but would gladly have paid for it. Well worth a read.

This is a very powerful testimony that resonated deeply with me. Darby was an extremely troubled child, who made your heart break for her and everything she had been through. The turmoil and angst of looking after Darby vs. Not at the detriment of your own family was one that you couldn't not understand and empathise with, as was the decision to shield them from as much of the ugliness in that 6 year old's background as possible. My only irritation was the Christmas diatribe, where Watson practically compared kids who grow up without Christmas to the abused.

The writer. Who is a foster mother. Tells of her experience whilst fostering one little girl and the joy and sorrows involved with fostering. A very well written book which does tell of child abuse but not in detail

I have never ever read such utter rubbish in all my life! It is badly written and long winded drivel.
