I note that this band are described as "Chamber Folk" whatever that means, but all I can say is that this is an excellent, melodic delight of an album. If I was to pick out possible similarities that may help to describe the music on here I would look at anything between Fairport Convention, Bon Iver, The Notwist and dare I say it Jethro Tull and even Talking Heads (especially the call and response choruses on a couple of tracks. Others may spot different "influences" but I think that if you like any of the afore-mentioned bands you'd like this. It is predominantly accoustic with a fair smattering of strings and woodwind and occasional synth but for me what makes this so special is that there are genuine songs on here that nag and ingrain themselves into your memory in no time at all. A rare trick that.

Loch Lomond are a mellow Indie/Folk band from Portland Oregon. Best known to millions of You Tube viewers as the main soundtrack providers with Wax and Wire on Danny Macaskill's -Way Back Home. 'Little Me' is to my ears, the band's best album. A haunting mix of almost ambient tracks which are defined by the intelligent song writing, inspired instrumentals and lush vocals. For the past few weeks, the albums has been on regular play in my car and at home. A great album to chill out to.

An album of beautifully crafted songs that withstand a lot of repeat play .....not going to put it in a genre as you either like it or you don't and i hate putting things into boxes !
only fly in this ointment is it came in a cardboard sleeve....cheap !

5.0 out of 5 stars An antidote to Lady Gage and Katy Perry 8 Aug. 2011
By Jeannine J. Perriseau - Published on Amazon.com

When you feel you might scream the next time your kids make you listen to some Lady Gage, Katy Perry, or Black Eyed Peas, this is just the music for you. It's for grown-ups. It's sophisticated and completely original. The music is not commercial. It has meaning and soul and ingenuity. It has a sound that's hard to pinpoint. A little ethereal, a little groovy, not cloyingly cheerful but not dark and depressive. It's a breath of fresh air and makes a lovely backdrop to a dinner party.

I found one specific song on this CD in a Danny McCaskil video and fell in love... So, i had to order the cd. It is fun and upbeat with all of the Scotish stuff I love. I so hope to travel there someday, but until then, I have some music. Great, easy sell, great CD.

This album is an absolute joy to listen to. It has some songs that have been on previously released cd's/ep's, but the new songs are so worth it. I can listen to this cd over and over.

5.0 out of 5 stars I have this on all the time! 26 April 2011

I love this CD. It can be relaxing but will not make you fall asleep. It is perfect background music when you have a few friends over. I like the Celtic sound that doesn't seem like the kind that is played only on St. Patrick's Day.
