Little Fern has never seen snow before but her mother knows that it is coming so shoos Fern and Bracken, her brother, out to play so that she can change the hay. Fern and Bracken play hide and seek. When Fern goes to hide, she asks many creatures along the way if she can hide in their home but they all say "No" as they are getting ready for the snow.

When it's Bracken's turn to hide, Fern counts to 10 before heading off to search. She looks in all the familiar places but cannot find him. By this time the snow is really coming down. Where is he? Her mother has told her that the snow is "lovely, fluffy stuff when it settles, but very, very cold". Upon finding Bracken the two bunnies stay still until the snow stops and then out they come to play. That night they are ready to come into their burrow and sleep where it it warm.

This is a sweet story with a nice large font along with good illustrations.
