About the Author
Growing up in locations like Botswana and Venezuela gave me quite the taste for adventure and my love for romances began when my mother shoved one into my hands in a desperate attempt to keep me quiet during TV coverage of the Wimbledon tennis finals!
When I wasn't consuming books by the bucketload, I could be found pretending to be a damsel in distress or running around solving mysteries and writing down my adventures. As a teenager, I wrote countless episodes of TV detective dramas so the hero and heroine would end up together every week. As an adult, I worked in a library to conveniently continue consuming books by the bucketload, until realising I was destined to write contemporary romance and romantic suspense myself. I live in leafy Surrey in the UK, a book-devouring, slightly melodramatic, romance-writing sassy heroine with my very own sexy hero husband! You can visit my website at: http://www.evedevon.com/

The little clockhouse on the Green is a charming feel good book with humour and determination and community spirit.
The story starts with Kate.
Kate is abroad working as a reviewer at holiday resorts.
But she gets several postcards from her cousin to tell her the Clockhouse is up for sale.
Kate hasn't been home in several years since her sister passed away.
But hearing this news she feels a strong urge/ pull to bring her back home.
We soon learn that it was her Sisters dream to turn the Clockhouse into a spa and hearing that the Clockhouse is up for sale is making Kate's decision to return home and put in an offer much stronger.
However things are not going to be easy for Kate when the mysterious Daniel is also interested and decides to put in an offer.
Daniel is not from the area.
It's fate that lands him in the village when he has car trouble.
He's a shrewd business man and sees huge potential in the Clockhouse and the enchanting Whispers Wood falling for it's charm he can't resist sticking around.
Coming back home to Whisper Woods is really not easy for Kate as it triggers some really emotional and painful memories for her, she also has a very difficult relationship with her mother since her sister passed away.
She run away from her emotions leaving behind alot of people who she is dreading seeing again, like her brother-in-law who is angry and upset Kate run away.
Kate is determined to do the right thing by her sister and open up the spa.
However Old Man Isaac who owns the Clockhouse isn't about to let it go without a fight to make sure it really does end up in the best hands.Read more ›
Kate has left the village 4 years earlier after tragedy struck but she is lured back when she hears that the Old Clock House is up for sale. It has always been a dream of her sisters to open a business there - can Kate make this a reality or is she still not ready to return home?
Daniel is at the point where he's wondering what obstacle he will face next in his life. And while out driving his beloved car, Monroe, breaks down, just outside of Whisper Woods and is immediately struck by how at home he feels there. The opportunity to restart his life, and start up a new business is proving to be very exciting for him and where better than the Old Clock House!
Isaac who is selling The Clock House, then comes up with a very odd plan for Daniel and Kate to help the village get its' mojo back by raising funds for the local fete, and whoever wins the battle will win the right to buy The Clock House!
This sets in motion some fun and games for Daniel and Kate as they compete against each other, with the help of family and friends, and also reopens some old wounds that are still very raw and difficult to get over.
I loved the characters in this charming story and really enjoyed the different perspectives that the story is told in. And was very pleased to see that there will be another in the series so looking forward to seeing how the characters all get on after this fabulous introduction!
I got a lovely cosy feeling reading this - funny and touching in equal measures!
The little clock house on the green is set in a beautiful village whisper wood. After many years it is finally up for sale.
Two potential buyers, one has had her heart set on it for years and the other a passing business man who decides to settle in the village. They both battle it out to win the Clock house.
It is very unpredictable as you are never quite sure what way itl go and who will be rhe sucessful buyer and thats what I loved about this book, I was guessing right up until the last chapter.
There is a lot of heartbreak in this but we learn that with sadness comes great happiness and you can go on and get through terrible times and move on with life as hard as it may be.
I was simply gutted when I got to the end of the book, I didn't want it to end. Then i found out there would be a second book in the series which im over the moon about and can't wait for the opening of the clock house in the next book and to see how the characters are getting on.
This was my first Eve Devon book and I am very impressed. From the opening chapter I was gripped and found Eve has a wonderful talent of telling a beautiful story, one you just cant put down. Im looking forward to reading more by her.
A fabulous 5 stars!
So The Little Clock House on the Green was my weekend book pick. I couldn't wait to immerse myself in Whispers Wood glory!
And when I came out for my breath I realised I had found another amazing author and my favourite book of this year so far! There had been such a fantastic publicity on social media surrounding the release of this book, and because I haven't previously read anything by Eve Devon I was very curious to read The Little Clock House on the Green and oh boy I am so glad I did!
I loved, loved, loved this story! When I finished the last page, I was left with a huge grin and happy reading Feeling ( you know the feeling when you are a bookworm!). The theme of this book has a slight feel of Gilmore Girls to it, but it is also sparkly, sizzling, emotive, captivating and utterly delicious all of its own and thanks to Eve Devon's fantastic writing style I was in for an amazing reading ride!
Kate Somersby runs away from the place that made her happy, but after a shocking accident, she felt like she needed to protect not only herself but also her beloved family. But as the years gone by Kate was missing her birthplace and when her cousin Juliet started to send her postcard with a lot of reference to the place that Kate hold dear in her heart. There was no stopping Kate to go back and mend some broken bridges.
As well as Kate, Daniel has decided to put his roots done in Whispers Wood. The village that stole his heart and made him feel confident about future again.Read more ›
