About the Author

Growing up in locations like Botswana and Venezuela gave me quite the taste for adventure and my love for romances began when my mother shoved one into my hands in a desperate attempt to keep me quiet during TV coverage of the Wimbledon tennis finals!

When I wasn't consuming books by the bucketload, I could be found pretending to be a damsel in distress or running around solving mysteries and writing down my adventures. As a teenager, I wrote countless episodes of TV detective dramas so the hero and heroine would end up together every week. As an adult, I worked in a library to conveniently continue consuming books by the bucketload, until realising I was destined to write contemporary romance and romantic suspense myself. I live in leafy Surrey in the UK, a book-devouring, slightly melodramatic, romance-writing sassy heroine with my very own sexy hero husband! You can visit my website at: http://www.evedevon.com/

Such a lovely springtime read. Eve has created such a vibrant array of characters in Wispers wood, I could picture them all so clearly when reading! I loved the film and book references and the fast paced banter. The comic elements of the competition between Kate and Daniel was beautifully mixed with the deeper story lines of a mother and daughter rebuilding their relationship after tragedy, a widower learning to move forward into a new romance and two lost characters attempting to put down roots and allow themselves to belong in a community again. A beautifully written book, which I'm recommending to all my friends!!

4.5 stars.....
The little clockhouse on the Green is a charming feel good book with humour and determination and community spirit.

The story starts with Kate.
Kate is abroad working as a reviewer at holiday resorts.
But she gets several postcards from her cousin to tell her the Clockhouse is up for sale.
Kate hasn't been home in several years since her sister passed away.
But hearing this news she feels a strong urge/ pull to bring her back home.

We soon learn that it was her Sisters dream to turn the Clockhouse into a spa and hearing that the Clockhouse is up for sale is making Kate's decision to return home and put in an offer much stronger.

However things are not going to be easy for Kate when the mysterious Daniel is also interested and decides to put in an offer.

Daniel is not from the area.
It's fate that lands him in the village when he has car trouble.
He's a shrewd business man and sees huge potential in the Clockhouse and the enchanting Whispers Wood falling for it's charm he can't resist sticking around.

Coming back home to Whisper Woods is really not easy for Kate as it triggers some really emotional and painful memories for her, she also has a very difficult relationship with her mother since  her sister passed away.
She run away from her emotions leaving behind alot of people who she is dreading seeing again, like her brother-in-law who is angry and upset Kate run away.

Kate is determined to do the right thing by her sister and open up the spa.

However Old Man Isaac who owns the Clockhouse isn't about to let it go without a fight to make sure it really does end up in the best hands.

How STUNNING is that book cover?! I couldn't wait to see what treats were in store for me; I was SO excited to get stuck in. And, you know what? The entire storyline did not disappoint AT ALL. From the first chapter, The Little Clock House had some sort of magical hold over me, it was as though I had climbed up to the top of The Magic Faraway Tree into the land of written tranquillity.
In this story we have two main characters lives to follow (not stalk fyi); Daniel's and Kate's. Daniel found himself in Whispers Wood by chance thanks to an iffy car and driving without a map and now he's in the village, one or two things may have caught his eye to warrant becoming a permanent fixture in the village. Then there is Kate, she's back in the village after spending a little while (several years in fact) clearing her head from circumstances she would love to forget. However, being back in the village is a tad bittersweet and she wonders whether she has made the wrong decision by coming back.
I need to be so careful with this review as a lot of the main events in the storyline are linked with certain emotions and situations, and I need to ensure I don't drop myself in it whilst I write. If I end up being too vague, the best option for you is to go and buy the book so that you can get the answers! I know, fab idea, right?
'What the hell made Kate run away? What was so bad that she had to up sticks and leave?', were two of the questions that I asked myself multiple times whilst reading a fair chunk of this book. There were a lot of raw emotions and rather vague conversations to keep me pondering Kate's reasons for going, but I didn't want to read between the lines and delve deeper before the storyline got there, as it was such an enchanting read.

Well, this book not only cought my attention by the gorgeously colourful cover but also the clever reference to Gilmore Girls famous serial! I am a big Gilmore Girls fan, so naturally, I have to sample this book and hopefully the whole series eventually!

So The Little Clock House on the Green was my weekend book pick. I couldn't wait to immerse myself in Whispers Wood glory!

And when I came out for my breath I realised I had found another amazing author and my favourite book of this year so far! There had been such a fantastic publicity on social media surrounding the release of this book, and because I haven't previously read anything by Eve Devon I was very curious to read The Little Clock House on the Green and oh boy I am so glad I did!

I loved, loved, loved this story! When I finished the last page, I was left with a huge grin and happy reading Feeling ( you know the feeling when you are a bookworm!). The theme of this book has a slight feel of Gilmore Girls to it, but it is also sparkly, sizzling, emotive, captivating and utterly delicious all of its own and thanks to Eve Devon's fantastic writing style I was in for an amazing reading ride!

Kate Somersby runs away from the place that made her happy, but after a shocking accident, she felt like she needed to protect not only herself but also her beloved family. But as the years gone by Kate was missing her birthplace and when her cousin Juliet started to send her postcard with a lot of reference to the place that Kate hold dear in her heart. There was no stopping Kate to go back and mend some broken bridges.
As well as Kate, Daniel has decided to put his roots done in Whispers Wood. The village that stole his heart and made him feel confident about future again.
