One of the absolute best parent bloggers there is. Pant-wettingly funny, slightly disgusting - ya know in a compelling, cool sort of way and so gut-wrenchinly honest it hurts. Brilliant. Don't think about it, just buy it!

I bought this book of blogs having followed Motherventing on Twitter for some time, but since she finished writing her own blogs and so had mainly read her guest blogs.

I was not disappointed! I only wish I'd been reading them at the time they were written and seen the comments people had written. I've also just worked out that looking at it on the phone Kindle app I can see the pics in colour rather than the black and white my Kindle gave me!

It is especially easy to relate to her writing when you have young children of your own.

Not for the faint hearted (due to the multiple mentions of bodily fluids!), the book is very well written and has a wonderful mix of hilarious posts and those more serious posts and will leave you wishing you too had an extraordinary a*se and such a cracking set of pins!

This was a wonderful read. I could not put the book down. Frances Lewis has a way of writing that had me gripped from the start. She is funny, insightful, caring and at times controversially honest.

This is a very personal accounting of a period in her life which I'm sure will resonate with anyone who reads it. I'm searching immediately for anything else she has written!

I've followed @motherventing on Twitter for some time and I've always loved her writing. Simply put, I'd drop everything I was doing to read what she'd written.

Brilliantly written, through the sad times and the good ones, and I'm so glad she decided to edit and compile her blog posts into this format. She's a very talented and very funny writer and I look forward to reading more of her work.

After a few "serious" books, I wanted something a little different and "lighter". Didn't know much about the author, but some of my twitter people made reference to the blog/book, so for the money, thought "sod it"...

Easy to read, funny in places, ranty in others, and often emotional - as a single dad I related to much of the content, a real "human" streak in it. It reflects that it's a book about real life and raw emotions, and always felt a little voyeuristic at times reading it.

Would I recommend it ? Hell yeah, but I think some people will get more enjoyment out of it than other, but if you've got kids, had kids, or are thinking about it, it'll be a good read...

I have been following Mother Venting on twitter for a while, have read pieces of her blog in that time. The little book is a great read, with some real funny moments, happy and sad times. Beautifully written too

Eons beyond the general childcare manuals and inherently immersed in tragedy Fran has put together an illuminating, honest and often painful collection of stories directly from the core of her marrow. It reads as a maniacal soliloquy with the sharpest tongue firmly in her cheek. It reads as a rib-burstingly hilarious collection of honest and pain filled parenting anecdotes. Often on the edge, always with both feet planted firmly on the shores of her own subconscious this collection of thoughts and insights deserves to be read. It bleeds from the page. Her poetry will startle you. Beyond parenting Fran operates in a world shaped by her own making. Once tragic, sometimes tear inducing, always honest. Not only will her words ground you they will lift you from the mundane. Blistering, frightening and welcoming please bear witness to the world of Mother Venting. Bring biscuits.

I promise that you will not regret buying this, I loved reading the Motherventing blog but joined near the end of the tale,so its brilliant to read it from the very beginning.
I have been reading it nodding in agreement, laughing out loud and reading extracts out to my husband many many times.
Frances is such a great writer, and this is perfect for mummy's wanting something to read during those quiet night feeds, or just for anyone wanting a giggle at parenthood.
