In a market swamped with poorly written cash ins on the current interest in ghosts and hauntings, this is a gem of a book. It has a lot of research for what is meant to be a little book and it is clear that Paul Adams loves his subject. As well as some of the major historic cases, such as Borley, he also includes less famous cases, that I won't mention for the sake of spoilers. He also provides a much needed guide to the great ghost hunters, which is great to get beyond the monopoly of the tv ghost hunter in order to see how it was done before the age of spook busting gadgets. This is a great introduction for someone looking to learn more about ghosts, but there is also a lot for the nerd like myself who has been mainlining ghostlore since primary school. One of the best general ghost books I've read.
