Liquitex offers a broad range of acrylic mediums to inspire creativity at every stage of the painting process. Liquitex Fluid Mediums perform much in the way that their name implies. They are fluid in nature and reduce viscosity of heavier paints and gels. They tend to self-level and do not retain brushstrokes. Liquitex Fluid Mediums modify acrylic paints in a variety of ways and contain acrylic resins to maintain or enhance adhesion and durability. Can be mixed into any acrylic paint to increase transparency, extend colour, matte sheen, film integrity, ease flow of paint and add flexibility and adhesion to paint film.
As Fixative: Use as a matte fixative over artwork to decrease gloss or shine.

Liquitex Acrylic Mediums
In addition to the widest array of Professional and Student colors, Liquitex offers the broadest possible range of acrylic mediums to inspire creativity at every stage of the painting process. The brand understands that mediums are often a difficult concept to grasp until you actually dive into them, so they have tried to simplify usage by classifying products in three distinct categories: Prep, Paint and Finish.
All Fluid Mediums
- Increase Flow
- Dry transparent or translucent.
- Extend the volume of thin paint.
- Make a suitable archival adhesive for collage.
Fluid Mediums are fluid in nature and reduce viscosity of heavier paints and gels. They tend to self-level and do not retain brushstrokes. They modify acrylic paints in a variety of ways and contain acrylic resins to maintain or enhance adhesion and durability.
Fluid Mediums available:
- Palette Wetting Spray
- Gloss Medium and Varnish.
- Glazing Medium
- Matte Medium
- Ultra Matte Medium
- Slow-Dri Blending Medium.
Use when maximum transparency is required to add luminosity and depth to your paintings. This fluid medium can be used to create brilliant glazes when mixed with transparent colour. Glazing Medium dries quickly for rapid layering and tends to minimise or eliminate brush strokes. Mix with Slow-Dri Blending Medium or Slow-Dri Fluid Retarder to extend the working time.
|Palette Wetting Spray||Gloss Medium & Varnish||Matte Medium||Ultra Matte Medium||Slow-Dri Blending Medium|
|Also available:||This medium improves colour blending and can be used to thin color while maintaining film integrity||Can be used as a varnish and/or a fluid gloss medium||Used to give fluidity to delicate brushwork or to act as a low sheen adhesive for collage||Used to maintain opacity and extend opaque =colours to double amounts, without changing the colour||An essential medium for creating softer edges and modeled forms|
|Spray onto your palette or directly onto the surface of a painting||Improves adhesion of paint film and increases colour depth, intensity, and gloss||This medium has a creamy consistency and is great with opaque colours||Ideal for large projects where transparency is not desired||This medium is used to extend the 'open' time of acrylics by more than 40 per cent, giving you an opportunity to really work the paint to enhance colour blending|

>THE GOOD: best glazing medium on the market
>THE BAD: the lid to the container SHOULD BE BETTER as it doesn't click into place
I didnt need much mixed with the paint, a few brush dabs.
My first time painting, this has helped my inability to paint fast enough and with a nice effect.
