Away from his family, Simba meets a meerkat named Timon (Nathan Lane) and a warthog named Pumbaa (Ernie Sabella). With the help of his new friends he overcomes great fear and adversity to defeat Scar and take his rightful place as ruler of the Pride Lands.

Simba is a playful and confident lion cub who's always ready for an adventure with his best friend, Nala.
Nala is a playful and spirited lion cub. She's best friends with Simba, and is also shown to be a fierce fighter.
Scar is an elegant, poised, and yet cunning lion, whose never-retracted black claws are perhaps a sign of his vicious nature.

The Lion King was, and still is, a great movie and I love it. I hope that everyone gets to experience it for themselves, it’s a timeless classic, a must see movie. I've watched it many times and it is always good no matter how many times you have seen it. The songs are great and so are all the characters and the story is incredible, great for all ages! I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't already watched it.
I have a 65 inch 4k tv and I could clearly see the difference between the blu ray copy and the 4k copy, the colours are more vibrant and you wouldn't know how old the film actually is due to how good it is.
If there was a downside, and it's very very minor, the 4k version doesn't have the song morning report in it when Simba is having his pouncing lesson.
William Holden (WILLIAM FRANKLIN BEEDLE Jr) was born on 17.4.1918 in O'Fallon, Illinois. He was raised as a methodist as his family was of English descent. After school, he got involved in local radio plays. In 1937, he was spotted by Paramount Pictures. His film debut was in 1938 'Prison Farm'. He did many films and his final film was in 1981 -'SOB'. He was married to actress ARDIS ANKERSON (Brenda Marshall) from 1941, but divorced in 1971. They had 2 sons - PETER(1943) and SCOTT(1946). Holden also partly owned 'Mt KENYA SAFARI CLUB' in Nanyuki, Kenya,(1959). He suffered from alcoholism. He was found dead on 12.11.1981, aged 63, intoxicated, had a fall, cut himself and bled to death.
How will this love triangle end? Will Tina or Christine or both go back with Robert? Will Bullit allow any of this? What will become of King? Watch out for scenes with lion, Maasai lion dance, charging hippo, black rhinoes and elephants. All Actors perform very well and enjoy the beautiful East African scenery. Director Jack cardiff (1914 - 2009) keeps you very interested in the story. There are many movies filmed in East Africa, some of them are:-
(1) Sammy Going South, Fergus McClelland 1963(2010)
(2) Where no Vultures Fly, Anthony Steel 1951
(3) Hatari, John Wayne 1962
(4) Simba, Dirk Borgarde 1955
(5) Mogambo, Clarke Gable 1957
(6) King Solomon's Mines, Stewart Granger 1956
(7) Out of Africa, Robert Redford 1985
(8) The Last Safari, Stewart Granger, VHS 1967
(9) Ashanti, Michael Caine 1979
(10)Born Free, Virginnia Mckenna 1963
(11)Tarzan's Greatest Adventure, Gordon Scott 1959(2009)
(12)I Dreamed of Africa, Kim Basinger 2000
(13)Stanley and Livingstone, Spencer Tracy, VHS 1939 (1990)
Having born in Kenya, I enjoyed watching this DVD.
Watch and ENJOY.
Worth the upgrade price from regular Blu-Ray. Hope Disney do others soon.
