I loved the fist book in this series and again I have it five stars. I loved the simplicity of it. It was a group of friends just hanging out, doing day to day things....it sucked me right in and I was desperate for this book. I love Fin and Antonia and found their chemistry amazing so it has been a long wait for me.
This book however is so different to the first. This book has all the fireworks and the goodies that keep you on edge. There is a major twist in this Book that I didn't see coming. I would usually sulk over a twist like this, but I couldn't for reasons I won't share due to spoilers. My heart melted.
If I was to criticise this book in anyway, it would be that it was not long enough. I do say that to every book I have loved though....I just want more.
I have loved all the characters in this book.
The heart ache,The passion and The love of them all
but the thrill of it all has kept me awake most of the night
5 Stars and many many more
Well Done to Ker again for keeping me on the edge of my seat and sleep deprived.
The characters for the most part were well developed, even if some of them were annoying and juvenile, but saying that they were in their early 20’s! I can’t say that I fell in love with any of them, but I did feel empathy towards Antonia for the hell she lived through. Finlay was a confusing man, one that I liked in book one and my heart broke a little for him in this book, but I also wanted to smack him for his stupidity at times; he showed passion for those things and people he truly loved, albeit sometimes he was a hot head and jumped to conclusions. The situation both he and Antonia found themselves in made my heart hurt for them, and I hoped that the love they had for one another would bring them together and make them stronger as a couple. Gavin was a fantastic character, he brought light and humour to the group and without him I think they would all have lived a very boring life, I felt a lot for Gavin as he underestimated himself and used humour as a mask to hide behind. There are so many other characters, most play their role in the story well, others I felt were maybe unnecessary, and were just padding.Read more ›
The truth is..I don't think I can, so that being said I'm not going to go into any detail about the book. 1 because of the reason I just stated and 2, because you need to experience this book with no preconceived opinions. That is the best way going into this book.
But I will say this...you MUST read book 1, 'Drawn To You' first. This is not a standalone and follows on where book 1 leaves us.
'Lines Drawn' was just everything I could've hoped it would be plus more. Filled with so much angst we are taken on one hell of a ride. A ride which leaves your nerves frayed and emotions in tatters, but by hell is it one of the best rides you'll find yourself on.
Whereas in Book 1 we were reading solely from Antonia's POV (apart from at the very end), here we get to read and experience the book from multiple pov's which in my opinion worked brilliantly.
I loved everything about this book and refused to leave my sofa until I devoured every last past.
A book full of angst, heartbreak, fear and love this is a book and duet you do not want to miss out on.
Ker really does put you through the emotional ringer.
From the characters to the story itself, everything felt real. It's a story that you imagine could actually happen in real life.
It was brilliant. Just absolutely amazing!!
A solid 4 stars from me.
