I really enjoyed the previous books in this series, but found this 1 a little slower and harder to get into. Once I got into it I found it an enjoyable read. I got the first book in the series whilst on offer as an 'airplane read' and found myself grabbing the next book in the series as soon as I'd finished the previous one. Not yet finished the series as catching up on other books I've bought first. But once their done I fully intend to finish Caine's adventures.

Quality and pace maintained in the desperate quest to stave off being over-run by the First Imperium. Descriptions and visualisation of battles and tactics well thought out.
Well worth reading by anyone interested in futuristic space battles on an intergalactic scale.

There's so many repeated phrases in this book its starting to get irritating and detracting from the story and characters.
Its like watching an American documentary every new chapter you get a pracied version of what happen before.
still a good read

Another great part to the story, gutsy and full of action with lots of detail throughout, it will be interesting to see how the Imperium will finally be defeated which I presume is going to be in the next book.

Like the style, and the story has good potential and they are, each book on their own a gripping read but... the logistics and the mad compiter mastermind haven't been thought through, a mild distraction. But hey, can't wait for the next installment.

I've been glued to it, hardly waiting to find out what is next for the various heroes (and villains!). I'm glad it's Christmas so I can read them, including many early hours reading sessions. I'm now about to read The Fall: Crimson Worlds IX

I would love to see this in film or a series in TV. OK there are a few typo's, but that doesn't detract from the story line.

I'll definitely be reading more from Jay Allan - Keep writing, you have yet another fan..!

Cleverly hidden between the never-ending battle skirmishes are moments of tender conciliation and political devilish intrigue. The Saga continues unabated - bring on the next volume!
