Linda Collison is the author of contemporary and historical fiction, as well as short stories, essays and magazine articles. Her first novel, Star-Crossed (Alfred A. Knopf), was chosen to be among the New York Public Library's "Books for the Teen Age - 2007."
Collison's fascination for nautical history took hold when she sailed aboard the HM Bark Endeavour on a three-week passage from Vancouver to Hawaii in 1999. As one of the voyage crewmembers, Linda played the role of an 18th century sailor aboard a remarkable replica ship that served as a portal to 18th century shipboard life. Linda and her husband Robert Russell have enjoyed (or endured) many blue water miles together on their Luders 36' sloop Topaz.
A retired professional nurse, Collison's 12-year career in Emergency and Acute Care nursing also influences her fiction.
