Review

"Zeuler R.M. de A. Lima has astutely navigated the complexity of Bo Bardi's life and crafted a deeply researched yet highly pleasurable book."-- John Hill, "Designers & Books"--John Hill "Designers & Books "

"Niemeyer aside, Latin American architecture has received far too little attention in the US, so this scholarly monograph on Lina Bo Bardi (1914-92) is especially welcome."--Michael Webb, "Form"--Michael Webb "Form "

"Zeuler Limar's book on "Lina Bo Bardi", the once overlooked genius of mid-20th-century Brazil, is exceptionally fine."--Rowan Moore, "The Observer"--Rowan Moore"The Observer" (12/08/2013)

"A major event in this long-overdue recognition [of Bo Bardi] is "Lina Bo Bardi," the first full-length life-and-works, by Zeuler R.M. de A. Lima, an architect and professor at Washington University in St. Louis. His detailed but well-paced monograph is a feat of primary-source scholarship and thoughtful analysis. Lima does a masterful job of candidly assessing his brilliant, somewhat erratic, and not always truthful subject. This important contribution to the literature will long remain the essential Bo Bardi publication."--Martin Filler, "New York Review of Books"--Martin Filler "New York Review of Books "

HASH(0x8a981f30) out of 5 stars Well Researched Book on an Architect You Should Know More About 17 Dec. 2013
By Justin Beadle - Published on Amazon.com

Chances are you found this book because you searched for Bo Bardi by name... but if by some off chance you were just looking for an architecture book and found this you are in luck. Lina Bo Bardi is one of the most important architects you have never heard of. Her work was ahead of its time and Her influence continues today through some of the biggest names in architecture including Steven Holl and nearly every Dutch architect worth following.

HASH(0x8a9c8c00) out of 5 stars A great publication from an academic standpoint, but additional analytical drawings and photographs would be appreciated. 1 Jun. 2014

A fantastic survey of Bo Bardi's work, but it could use some more visuals. However, the photos that are included are spectacular.

I thought there would be more focus on the photos of the architecture rather than writing.
