I always feel trepidation when reading the first in a series of books. Are the scenarios realistic? Do I like the characters? I can safely say that the story started well and grew better the further the story went. The only problem was the baddie was predictable!! A twist in the tale would have been good!! I hope the next story in the series has a twist in it's tail!!

An average book. The writing is acceptable but not good and there are quite a few mistakes. It would also be nice if the author had chosen names that were a bit more different instead of Mark, Martin and Martol as it would have made reading it a bit easier. The events are interesting enough for me to continue reading and get to the end but I got sick of the prissy heroine and her silly thinking. Although I will probably finish it I cannot really recommend this book is a found is to be childish

I thoroughly enjoyed this exciting thriller and would highly recommend it to all who enjoy crime fiction. I have just downloaded book 2 in this excellent series and am looking forward to starting it. My advice is start at book 1 and read the series in sequence.

I'm glad this was a freebie since I have seldom read an alleged thriller quite as bad. Aside from egregious errors in word choice - 'recantation' for 'recitation' and 'relegated for 'delegated' - the characters were cardboard and the plot utterly predictable. There was no sense of place - are we in New York or Blandsville? -and it simply limps to so-called conclusion which was in fact signposted half-way through, so that I thought there was going to be a fantastic reveal that the cop done it. No more for me.

Nothing wrong with this book if you want a nice easy read.

I didn't really get into it until the latter half but, once there, I really did want to know what would happen next.

I've given it a three as it's a middle of the road-er; if you're off on holiday and need something to read on a sun lounger you could do worse.

G.K.Parks has written a good page turner which should appeal on many levels. The action is fairly predictable but the main characters are likable, encouraging one to read on.
The stage is set for sequels which I look forward to reading.

Oh boy I liked this book. It was not gut wrenching so very enjoyable without all that. I was part of it and I could not put it down. Alexis is so real and Marin reminded me of "Grey" very attentive and a nice guy.
