I thought the characters were deep, even though they were stereotypes. I liked the psychological aspects and the suspense. Coffin Factory *is* a much better name for the nightclub! The sentences were neat and trim but telling. The ending was not predictable but it was an ending over-used in other stories. Maybe part of this extended family should have been hinted at earlier, but traditionally this type of Sam Spade works by himself. But I really enjoyed reading this story and that's what counts.

Worth the low price but don't expect it to take more than 15 mins to read. Hopefully we'll see more of this character.

I really loved this short story, but once I finished (within a half an hour), I so wanted more! I really hope that the author makes this into a full blown book, because it would be a great story!

5.0 out of 5 stars It's a keeper 29 Mar. 2012

Like so many others who have reviewed this story, I also hope the author expands this character and his world. The title character seems like a pretty nice guy in a not so nice world.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Like... 17 Nov. 2012

...I'm not usually into this genre of writing, but maybe I need to take a second look/read. I really, genuinely enjoyed this story, although it was only a ‘Shortie'.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great writing 9 Nov. 2012
By R. Hayashida - Published on Amazon.com

So glad to hear this is just the start. Much better written than any of the other urban fantasy series' out there - except maybe Richard Kadrey's Sandman Slim novels. Great writing is always such a pleasure, whatever the story, but here, the story is also interesting and well told.
