From the manufacturer
LightwaveRF Wireless Control Power Socket
The Lightwave 13A socket comes in metallic designer finishes designed to match the dimmer switch range. Each socket is mains rated to 13A and approved to BS 1363. They accommodate standard wiring and 35 mm back boxes. No extra wiring is required. The ‘socket-lock’ facility can be used to lock sockets off, for safety reasons, or lock them on to prevent unintentional switch-off of appliances, such as a fridge freezer.

So I asked for a replacement. They agreed - good. Printed out the return label and posted it at the post office. I stupidly didn't get a proof of postage as the queue was very long and I was in a hurry. I mean, who has time for this?
Weeks later and I have not had a replacement. I emailed them only to have them say they have not received the item. So now I am left out of pocket £40. A week later I emailed again and they have not bothered to reply. So I'm not happy that the item itself is faulty and I have several others in my home.
These are expensive and if you end up, as I have, putting them all over your home, and also invest in light switches, you'll soon be very sorry you did!
Another one I have seems to work intermittently. And needs me to manually turn it on/off to get it to start working again. So I would not recommend these switches be used. Especially not if you put anything more than a simple electrically device on it, i.e. don't plug in an extension cord, don't plug in a TV, don't plug in a vacuum cleaner....
The forgetfulness seems to coincide with any changes/additions to any other Events or Timer settings in the room, following which the system needs frequent Syncs. Eventually it all settles down again.
Use with any IR movement sensor is permanently problematic, frequently getting stuck on.
If there was an affordable alternative to Lightwave I would use them but as I am away a lot we need the remote control functions.
1: Several started smoking and had I not been around to turn the power off I suspect they would have started a fire.
2: A few went into crazy mode, making loud noise turing the socket on and off rapidly. Their was again a small of burning.
3: Loud humming noise coming out.
4: Most just died peacefully (although maybe one of the above but I wasnt around to catch it) symptoms include when turning 1 in the whole switch resets.
In short a great product for 2 years but after that... Luckly I'm confident in DIY so when one does blow Its a £40 loss (replace with more reliable product) but for the average home owner, it could be a £200 electrition emergency call out or worse the fire brigade. In short Lightwave, hire a few more electrical engineers to sort out longevity and less designers and you would have a 5 star product.
