The world renowned Lightload Towels are the only towels that are survival tools. Use them as a towel, wash cloth fire starter, first aid supplement, diaper, insulator, static electricity insulator, mask and more. Each piece packs down so small that you can put five in a shirt pocket. They're great for storing in tight spaces like suitcases and small pouches. They weigh a mere 15grams(4 equal weight of one bandana) so you'll find them helpful where weight is a concern like in travel or backpacking. Waterproof packaging covers each piece. Because of this you'll always have a clean dry cloth for good hygiene, personal care and first aid. The material is 100 percent viscose and made from cellulose(not oil, like microfiber) acts as a sponge and absorbs up to nine times it's weight in water. They are also very energy efficient needing little energy to carry, wash and dispose of. Add water to the towel or start wiping water off of you to soften and open easier. They're very comfortable against the skin and are also great for indoor gyms and spas. In caring for the Lightloads hand washing is best. You can reuse them. They last until they don't. This three pack is a great gift and is easily mailed. Colors of the towels are assorted. You golfers can freeze to make a cold towel. Being great as a game piece too on rainy days, you can use as a checkerboard piece or puck. Boy Scouts and kid campers love this feature. Lightload Towels have been written about in many magazines including Climbing Magazine, Bike Magazine and Sailing Magazine and highly regarded by many writers at the British Guild of Travel Writers(BGTW).

In use they're great; thin but strong, and they dry out really quickly.
Useful for loads of stuff, and I think they're going to last me a long time !
Handy tip: they come VERY compressed, so the first time you use each one, after you've unwrapped it put it in a bowl with water to cover: keep it topped up and in five minutes it will have 'de-compressed' itself nicely, and be ready for use.
After reading some reviews, thought I'd give them a go. Couldn't believe the tiny pack size, and after getting caught in a torrential (English summer!) downpour was equally amazed at well I could dry myself off with them. If the towel starts getting too wet, just give it a good wring out (chamois leather style) and it's ready to start drying again! After use, it dried out properly fairly quickly and is good for using several times (used five times so far with only slight signs of wear in the centre).
Minus points would be that it is a bit fiddly unpacking it for the first time, and for us blokes, any hint of facial beard increases wear dramatically when drying your face.
For backpackers and Cityhopper travellers alike, these are a godsend. They are very light and tiny when unused so can slip into any nook or cranny and even when opened they are light, or even disposable. They do soak up the wet very easily and I have used them on many a trip as they dry incredibly quickly. Have even taken them with me when I am staying in unknown hotels, when I am not sure about the cleanliness of (or even if they supply) any towels on arrival. Plus, with airlines ever decreasing the amount of luggage you can take without paying for it, then these must be the answer. A family with a couple of children for instance, going to the beach. How do you pack enough towels without going over your weight limit for your suitcase? I'd buy a few Lightload Beach Towels.
Heston Blumenthal was recently on TV with his new 'pill' lemon scented serviette for first class passengers with that airline. He used the same idea as these, but placed in lemon scented water to open. I'm sure he nicked the idea from Lightload Towels!
As previouly stated, they do not last very long, but it depends on how you use them. I have one 'Lightload Towel' that has been with me for about two years now and it is still going strong! (Looks a bit ropey now, may have to buy a new one!) But maybe I'm thinking too much about the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, "All you need is a towel"!
Update: This truly is an amazing product. Mrs Daz and I hid under the towels waiting for the end of the world and, such is their power as survival tools, that we hardly noticed anything. It was almost as if nothing had happened.
They are stored everywhere, but mostly used when we're on holiday, the same ones make great face flannels!
I've seen some reviews saying they are quite 'stiff', but the more you use them, the softer they become, & it is possible to wash them too, & the dry loads quicker than your big fluffy towels too. So, if you don't want to ruin your good towels while your on holiday, & doing really dirty jobs, use one or two of these instead.
Great wee things - and they are pretty small - that were used in many of the ways described in the brilliant and hilarious instructional video. (If the link is no longer there, it can be found on Youtube or on te Lightload site.)
They won't take the place of, for example, a microfibre travel towel for drying yourself but they cost about a quarter of the price and are a lot more than only 25% as good.
I now keep a permanent supply in my camping cook pot: great for drying cookware, cutlery etc and brilliant as firelighters.
Well done George! Lightload Towels (three pack 30x60cm hand size), The only Towels that are Survival Tools
