It has taken the stereotypical image of glamour and made it less tack and more appealing. As a woman I used to view glamour as pure sex and porn, but this book makes it more approchable and it makes you feel that you can produce these images for yourself, without the stigma usually associated with the style.
It looks at the processes before and after the image is taken, such as the emulsion lift on page 73, which shows a high contrast of two entwined bodies. as well as the humour you might not imagine exists in glamour like that on page 30, which is of an old lady groping and old man. You will find the classic image of glamour such as that on page 35, where a woman is dressed in the cliche stockings and suspenders, but then you can compare it to the more subtle newer image on page 104, of a man who is cast in a blue light.
I think this is a great book that could only add value and inspiration to any library. go and have a look, I promise you are likely to take it home once you have.

That said, great photos, with lots of different styles and variations, make this a book I often pull down simply to spark my creativity. If Bavister had published it as an art book, with out the studio setups and diagrams, it would still have been worth the price.
One note: some reviewers don't understand that, in the photography world, glamour is often a euphemism for nudes. The fact that Amazon didn't mention that the book contains them is no reason to downgrade it.
