Don't get me wrong - if I can go to my teachers classes, I will, but in the meantime I prefer to practice at home. Performing the same sequence over and over I find tiresome, making up my own constantly the same - this has detailed breakdowns of almost every imaginable yoga pose, all their health benefits AND a library of "yoga courses" at the back, practice sequences that I find useful.
Probably not a book for a total beginner though.....I wouldn't recommend learning a yoga pose or Pranayama totally from a book unless you'd had some prior guidance...or knew your body inside and out.
The book itself is easy to follow and already making a difference with my yoga practice. It has step by step pictures to show you the stages of the moves, which I have also found useful.
I'd recommend to anyone who is a beginner in Yoga.
There's a huge amount of workout programmes at the back. Lots of info worth the poses.
I believe I saw a spiral bound version of this and that would make this huge book easier to navigate!
I have many yoga books, have been practicing now for many years, but this book
is very informative and gives information that is not found in other books.
