Michael's well-illustrated book does a great job of guiding the less experienced photographer through the challenge of photographing people. -- Photography Monthly Magazine, April 2005

I would definitely recommend this book.
This is the first book on photography I bought in years, shortly after getting my first digital DSRL. It was an eye opener. Combined with the digital camera, this book made studying the theory of light and colors something not only easy, but fun altogether. It is very well written and conceived. Examples are very well chosen. I still pick it up very often, and it still is very fresh. In fact, I bought many other Michael Freeman books because of this, and no matter how good they may be I always miss on them the clarity of purpose, the method and the accuracy of examples found on this one.
