He sets up a triangle between these 3 factors - money, time and mobility - and makes a good case for the fact that most of us sell our time rather cheaply for money - thus robbing ourselves for both time for our selves or time with family and friends.
The bottomline is that as employees we will never get beyond selling our most priceless commodity (time) for money at a rather poor exchange rate. When (if) you reach pension age - your time, health and ability to enjoy life is allmost spend.
Then Rasmus goes on to point out what to do - start for yourself - but in contrast to most books on that subject - this author doesn't promote that groundbreaking one idea that will make you a millionaire (or not) - but rather points to start up one or several small business that can give you a revenue - not to make you a millionaire - but to fiance the lifestyle you want - with time for yourself and your loved ones.
The idea is supported by cases and different business models - many of them rather easy to start - both time- and money wise!
The book is a easy read. The ideas sound and easy to execute. The most hard one to swallow for most people is the shift in paradigm that you don't have to live like your parents or grandparents - but that you can have a much better life breaking new ground.
The book have inspired me very much and my plans for this year is to open up a business based on some of these ideas.
If a book actually gets you to do something - well it can't get any better than that!!
If you’re like that – this is the book for you
Rasmus’ message is easy to understand and put to use, as he shared a bit of his own story with cool, practical business info’ in ”How-to”-style
Fortunately you dont need to sell the house or pawn the family jewels – just follow the book step by step, advise by advise – and you’ll get to live the free rock star life.
And how far you wanna take it is entirely up to you to decide… Rasmus neither promises nor suggest you’ll invent the next Skype or facebook. But he does promise that anyone – U 2 – can become a rock star with this model. ( even with out the shades of Bono or the make-up of KISS.
I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Rasmus – and he’s the real deal that guy – as well as his message in the book too.
So if you feel like playing in other places than ”Cubicle arena” from 9-5 and you think that the ”Rock Star Trifecta” model might awaken your curiosity, then you gonna love this book and more so the outcome of it

I've contacted Rasmus in the past and he has been kind enough to take the time to contact me back. He comes across as a pretty nice guy and has has a lot to offer in terms of experience and advice. Good on him and I wish him all the best.
The big idea in the book is that we always have been working on creating a better life for us self and how we are doing it is a bit different. Normally in our life we just work for a paycheck each month in a corporate job. That is what drives us. Rasmus believe that work is an illusion and that we can change the way we see the things and how to live a better life.
Unlike many other program Rasmus is not advocating that we should found a business and sell it for millions of dollars and retire. Rasmus rather want us to create business that can give monthly revenue of 1-5.000$ a month and that will make us much happier. That way we can spend time on what we really love.
The books I a good follow up to Timothy Ferris "The Four hour work week", but Rasmus book is more focus on how to create a good business.
I really do like the illustrations in the book, they are very focus on creating a rockstar image on how to see things and it give a nice feeling of where things can head.
From the perspective for the freelancer I also see this has a lot of potential. If I could run a small business on the side that generated some revenue on the side then my freetime would be much different.
It is a really thought provoking book about if we are spending our time on the right area and moving toward what we want to achieve.
