Life’s Turned Upside Down is a sweet romance full of heart and emotions. Gabriella is the youngest of her family. She has witnessed so many around her find their HEA. She wonders if she will ever find hers. She really wants to find it, but she finds it hard after her ex broke her heart. She’s not sure she can trust anyone completely with her heart again.

Ashton is a doctor in her family’s medical practice, and he and Gabriella have never gotten along. He’s not the friendliest person, and she has no problem letting him know exactly how she feels. However, her brother thinks he sees some passion behind her harsh words. Neither Ashton nor Gabriella realize how each of them will turn the other’s life upside down. Their lives will never be the same again.
There is no doubt in the beginning that Gabriella doesn’t like Ashton AT ALL! Her family has come to accept him, and as she spends more time around him, she discovers why he has acted the way he has. Through her acceptance and love for him, I got to see what a special person she really was. When she discovers a secret about his past, she will run the risk of losing him. But, I love that she goes forward with eventually revealing the truth to him despite possibly losing him…she feels like the truth will ultimately free him from his painful past even if his future might not include her.

Ashton was a complex character. I, like Gabriella, wasn’t a huge fan of his. As I got to know him, I came to love him. I could completely understand why he acted the way he did. Underneath his tough exterior was still the little boy who wanted a family to love and accept him. I loved watching the walls around his heart completely shatter to let Gabriella in.

Independent Reviewer for Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!

Anne you have done it again brilliant read from the word go.

Gabriella Alvarez is part of the Alvarez is she the youngest sister of the Alvarez family and best friends with Angeline who she saw get married to her brother. She does not let her guard down when it comes to men in her life she likes that the wall protects her so after having another argument with Ashton at her nieces christening she decides that he is disgusting vile and she will never forgive him for what he did to her brother and her nephew.

Ashton joined the Alvarez family practise after moving from Branson now his bedside manner was awful he snapped at all the patients after John Alvarez gave him a talking to him and taking Ashton under his wing Ashton soften and became better at what he did.

Ashton and Gabriella had got a lot of emotions going on Gabriella wouldn't open her heart just in case she got hurt and Ashton wouldn't open up as he felt he was all alone in the world he never thought his parents loved him. Will Gabriella help Ashton to see that he was loved and will Ashton break the wall down that Gabriella has up?

I am not going to spoil it by telling you the rest. the characters all work well in the book u go through every emotion going anger, hurt, crying, laughing. I am giving this book 5/5, and thank you for the opportunity to review this book.

Life's Turned Upside Down is an enemies to lovers romance with a bit of angst and mystery thrown in. Like the rest of the Show Me series, it is a heart-warming book filled with love of family. This series would make perfect Hallmark movies!

The characters of Gabriella and Ashton were well developed. However, I didn't like like them much at first: they were constantly at odds and very immature. As the storyline went forward, however, I grew to like them and to better understand their behavior. They both had past baggage and were hurting. Can they put their pasts behind them and get their HEA? Or is their animosity and hurt too great?

The plot was steady and held my attention for the most part. At times, the book seemed a little overly detailed, but it didn't break the story for me. The contrast between Gabriella's warm, close-knit family and Ashton's cold, aloof family was well written. I loved getting glimpses of favorite characters from the previous books.

This is the third book in the Show Me series. Although it could be read as a standalone,I recommend reading the series in order to better understand the characters and their backgrounds. This is my fourth book by Anne Stone, but it certainly won't be my last!

This is a beautifully written book full of twists and turns. I began to wonder if Gabriella would ever get her man! The two main characters are so complicated. Gabriella finds it hard to trust any man after having her heart broken. She finds herself being drawn towards Ashton even though she hated him for his poor treatment of her brother and nephew.
Ashton is also a complicated person. He didn't have a proper childhood as such. He was sent away to boarding school and forgotten about. His mother hated him because she thought he had ruined her relationship with his father who had been a womaniser and cheat. His father didn't care about him either so he was ignored when he came home for Christmas which was the only time he came home.
Ashton finds himself drawn to Gabriella as she shows him how life could have been.
