I'm a Christian so I already believe in Heaven, but this book was interesting nonetheless. It was intriguing to hear of the NDE experiences and I am not sure exactly where it all fits into my understanding of heaven or my theology as I had thought no one but Jesus had seen heaven. However, despite not being settled in my mind as to where this all fits, or whether I really agree with it, it was certainly a fascinating and well put together book!
What I really liked was the variety of different accounts that Rawlins included in the book from children to adults, soldiers to pastors and your average Joe. The vast array of different accounts that all have amazingly similar tales of beauty, lights and tunnels is somewhat incredible and makes you think for sure.
If nothing else, `Heaven is Real' inspired me to love more and to live my life to the max and make every single second count. The result of most people's near death experiences in the book seemed to be to focus on kindness and love and to realise that many things in life are nothing but shallow and meaningless. A true motivation to live my life well and it has given me much to think about.
Ultimately, I'd recommend people to flick through this little book regardless of your stance on Heaven; whether you believe in it or not, as it makes for an intriguing read - and it is pretty short so you can snap it up in no time!
Even die-hard sceptics would find it difficult to dispute so many accounts of ordinary, everyday people, who have nothing to gain by telling their families and friends about their Near Death Experience,
Many people came back with the same message – they didn't want to come back to life because it was so beautiful in heaven, and they had never felt more loved or more peace before.
There are many accounts, each a little different in their own personal experience but all of them say they are surrounded by beauty and so full of an unconditional love that is given to them.
They say that it helped them to put their lives into perspective; that when they came back they realised what was important and what was not important anymore; and that love, happiness, was all they needed – material things could not make them happy anymore.
This book though dogs deeper into the real NDE and explores how and why it can happen
Excellent once more from Tess Rawlins
