Lifeventures Thermal Mugs are perfect for keeping drinks hot or cold for hours and so ideal for long car trips, hiking and camping or even just for the office. They have vacuum insulated walls, a screw on lid and are made from stainless steel with a lacquered finish and they look pretty funky! Our opinion? We use this for hot drinks in the winter but think it works best in the summer keeping icy drinks cold.

Would definitely recommend.
Firstly, I was impressed with the lip of the mug. Previous mugs I've used have had a sharp-ish finish to the edge where you drink from. The edge on this mug is rounded & much more comfortable to drink from. It also has the release valve under the top of the lid (as all this type do). However, don't be fooled into thinking that this will get rid of all the pressure when you put boiling water in & seal it immediately. I will explain how this should be done:
Firstly, warm the mug up by pouring boiling water into it & place the lid on top (DO NOT SEAL THE LID). This will warm the metal to make your drink stay warmer for longer. It also expands the surface of the mug & neutralises the pressure which would happen if you just made your drink & sealed it straight away. Give it a few minutes to warm up & expand, then you can make your drink. The capacity of these mugs is the same as an average porcelain mug, so the amount of coffee, sugar, milk/whitener will be the same. When you've made your drink, seal the lid lightly, give a few seconds then unscrew until the seal is broken to release any pressure. Do this a few times, just to ensure you have most of the pressure out. Failure to do all of this (especially the warming part) will cause so much pressure that the lid may blow off & cover you in boiling water/Tea/Coffee. So... for those who wrote a bad review because the lid blew off - now you know what you did wrong.
This thermal mug kept my drinks hot for about 3 - 4 hours, & warm for about 6 hours.
Now, to explain the title - I specifically got a red mug, & I also bought some dark blue electrical tape. The result is: my new R.E. Mug (pictured). I'm a happy bunny now ;)

These are really good and will keep a drink hot (or cold) for up to 6 hours. No fear of leaks and, unlike other flasks, does not smell of chicken soupPublished 1 month ago by jeremy
