The lovely Maria De La Torre is a survivor. Maria's life hasn't really been paved with streets of gold, they have been paved with lots of but with lots of blood and sacrifice. Maria may have always been there for her soul sister Gillian in the Trinity Trilogy. This is a story is about Maria's life. The life that Maria chooses. However this is the same life that someone who keeps haunting from her past is trying to take it away. Apart of Maria's life she's tried so hard to lock away so deeply and try to be happier in the new life she's been making.
Meet Elijah Redding. Elijah is Tommy's identical twin brother. Not that Tommy ever mentioned her had a brother let alone an identical brother. Elijah is the last man in the entire world that Maria believes that she should be with. Elijah's a sexy, smoking hot, dark, gritty, a true lawless bounty hunter. Elijah's the exact opposite of what she thought was the man she loved and lost. That man was Tommy who gave up everything for Maria that included his life. Tommy was killed in the line of duty. Unluckily for Maria, she finds out that Elijah is not the type of guy to back down from anything. Elijah is always used to getting what he wants. Now Elijah has his sights on the raven-haired seductress.
Now the time is not on Maria and Elijah's side. They discover that there's a new threat to the fiery soul sister. It's one that Maria never thought she would never have to face again. Unfortunately this time, the stakes are definitely a matter of life and death.
Maria now suddenly and quickly learns that the things Maria so desperately wants most in this lifetime; they may just be the sort of things that have all the power to destroy her."
This book is not one for the faint of heart as it's a really touching and gripping book. It had me in tears at places and laughing at Maria in others.
Her spirit is such an inspiration.
This book and the other Trinity series books bring to light how even through all the bad things that there is also the chance of a happy ending.
Audrey Carlan knows how to bring it.
A fantastic continuation to a great series.
If i could give Audrey Carlan more than 5* i would.
Life.....it's the perfect title for this book. It takes us through the life of Maria and all those that she surrounds herself with. We witness the good and the bad, the beautiful and the ugly and the acceptance of letting go of the guilt, the past, and allowing love completely in. I was captivated by the strength, courage, fierceness, devotion and love that these beautiful soul sisters embodied in Body, Mind & Soul...but even more in Life. Audrey Carlan you are a brilliant author who keeps amazing me with each story you bring to life. Thank you for giving us more of the Trinity series. I can't wait for Fate. BESOS!
But an person from her past (without giving away spoilers) has come back.
It kept me at the edge of my Seat, just couldnt stop Reading.
Absolutely love it, love, friendship, tension, bad things and many good things.
Audrey Carlan, i have all your books and cant wait for the last past of this serie.
I already knew Maria had been through a lot through how she meet Gillian but how Audrey writes the emotional and physical torment Maria went though is heartbreaking. Then at her lowest point the past comes back to haunt her and the last person she should be with Eli enters her life. I love how passionate Maria gets causing her to let out her passionate side and Eli is incredibly protective.
Although this book is heartbreaking I feel Fate is going to cause some serious crying!
