Welcome to Earth. Population zero.
What would happen if every human being on Earth disappeared? This isn t the story of how we might vanish it is the story of what happens to the world we leave behind.
This series explores, in vivid detail, a world wiped clean of humanity. Each episode is a stunning examination of how the very landscape of planet Earth would change in our absence. What happens to the millions of animals that supply our food? The chemicals stored in industrial refineries? Which animal predators will take over homes? Do satellites fall to Earth?
From animal outbreaks to massive structural collapses to hordes of toxins and chemicals unleashed across the globe, we witness the final downfall of the most famous buildings in the world The White House, Monticello and Versailles and the destruction of man s most treasured antiquities and works of arts, as the unforgiving power of nature is cruelly demonstrated. LIFE AFTER PEOPLE: THE COMPLETE SEASONS ONE & TWO reveals what happens in the hours, days, months and years after people disappear.

Whatever happened to us didn't affect any animals and the programmes also show how they would cope on their own - wait until you see what happens to the Queen's corgis! There's also the occasional view of a real-life environment which has lain derelict for many years, like the Pennsylvania mining town evacuated in 1984 because of an uncontrollable underground fire, or the abandoned amusement park which foreshadows the ultimate fate of Atlantic City.
Alas, no subtitles, which is why I'm only giving it four out of five. But otherwise I would highly recommend this set.
So in summary - the scenario for each episode is the same - life after people - however the subjects covered vary and make it a good watch. Makes you realise that nothing lasts forever.
