I loved the story. I enjoy a story where the alpha male/Dom meets a woman with a sassy mouth that isn't afraid to tell him to shove it yet, yields in the bedroom.
I really got wrapped up in this story. The couple in this story have some things to work out but I can't say what it'll ruin it for you. I also detected a little twist having to do with his sister again, I can't say what. You must read to find out.
Wow!! I mean it....Wow!!! Paul is a man that you love to hate. He is cocky, conceited, a Dominant, bossy (guess that goes with the dominant though doesn't it, but it is in and out of the bedroom so I'll call him bossy too) self absorbed, but...he does have his good qualtities too (if you dig deep enough) he is caring (to a point), giving (but some would call that flashy) and lets just put it out there...hell of a bedmate! But the biggest point of all..and it's not a good one...he is a big fat liar!! Yep, I'm not joking...and by the title of the book, I'm sure you figured that out all by yourself without me even needing to tell you. :)
Anyway....this is a single pov read - We get to see the workings of Paul/Deacon's lil devious mind. It was kinda nice seeing a book in only the male pov...but I really did miss Jeanette's. But from what I hear, in book 2 we will have Jeanette's pov. Since this book ended with the last chapter being in Jeanette's pov and ending in a cliff hanger, it makes sense on why she wrote the last bit that way. Now I am chomping at the bit to read book 2. Oh...and if you haven't figured this out either....this does not end in a HEA. This IS NOT a stand alone book and must be read in order.
Oh! I almost forgot to mention Jeanette....she is a lil country girl who falls for the city slicker. In my opinion she was way too trusting. She missed lots of clues along the way about Paul/Deacon and his mysterious ways. Clueless until the very end...but I do like how she is going about her revenge. It's gonna be sweet!!!
So as I was saying, great read, great storyline, good characters, good description to details, just missed Jeanettes pov through out most of the book but was still a great read.
Now for the hard part.....just kidding...this part is easy.....
Would I recommend this book? Yep! As long as you don't mind there NOT being a HEA and it ends in a cliff hanger.
Would I read more from this author? Yep! I'm curious to see how this bit of revenge turns out.
Enough about that, let's talk about this book. I loved it. I read it today. When I started reading it, I was on a field trip coming back to my son's school. Did I tell you he goes to a private school? What a surprise when I was reading this on the bus!! I can not remember how much I read before I had to stop. I wanted to laugh at some of the things I was reading. Then, when I started the second time, I was in my van while my husband drove and I could not read a lot since he was talking to me. Third time was in a restaurant while my husband took the kids over to play some games after we ate. Then, I finished it at home in 2 different places.
I love the characters of this book a lot. Jeanette did not allow Paul to push her around. She is definitely strong willed. I am not too sure about Destiny. I think we will find out more on this in Book #2 (Betrayal) and much more.
I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.
