Bought this charger because it has both USB Type-C and Quick Charge 3.0 I use the Type-C with my Pixel 2 and have found that it can't keep the phone charged if it is in heavy use while it is charging. For example if i'm using the phone as a satnav, even though the charger is plugged the battery level still drops. If the screen is off and the phone is only doing light things in the back ground, like playing music through the bluetooth connectivity it charges ok. I spoke to Tronsmart about this but they did not really have an answer, they sent me a replacement charger without quibbling in case the one I got was faulty but I have not tried the replacement yet, neither have I tried the QC 3 port yet

UPDATE: The replacement sent by Tronsmart works as expected, that is it charges my phone and keeps my phone fully charged even on reasonable long trips (2 hours) while it is being used as a satnav and playing music via bluetooth.

It does not charge fast the Nexus 5X. Nexus 5X is not Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 or 3.0 technology. So, perhaps this charges registers as “charging rapidly” on my Nexus 5X, I'm quite sure that is not real. I noticed that the amount of charge did not increase when using GPS + screen on + 4G. Probably the phone was consuming more energy than the charger could provide.

Updated: Seller contacted me and she told me that probably I received a bad unit and she offered me two options: arrange a replacement without return of bad unit; or full refund. I'm not living anymore in UK, so I had to choose a full refund.

So, I'm not sure if this product works properly with Nexus 5X, but I'm quite sure that this company respect their customers. I'm quite happy with them. Thank you!

This charger works as advertised - it can Fast Charge my Nexus 6p (the phone confirms this on the lock screen). Fast Charge is not just a matter of having the right USB-C port, the charger needs to communicate with the device to negotiate Volts and Amperage. This works. The extra USB port for other items is a welcome bonus. I am also happy that there is no LED to shine in the car when it's dark - these lights distract me.
Only minor negative point is that the cable isn't coiled - I knew it when I bought it. Straight cables tend to hang on the side of the foot-wall in the car, doesn't look as tidy as with coils
My advice: buy this if you have a USB-C device

Verified Purchase

The Tronsmart charger does that I bought it for, fast/turbo/speed charge multiple devices. Both the attached type-C connector fast charges my Nexus 5x, as well as the supplied micro-USB cable fast charges the wife's Galaxy S6.

However, there is/was one issue. The charger does not fit snugly into the 12V outlet of my car (an Alfa Romeo). It was fairly loose and wobbly. I am aware that there is no proper standard in internal diameters of 12V connectors in the car-industry, hence still 4 stars.

I've solved the issue by adding two rubber O-rings, one under the two metal springs (flip them out carefully with a small screwdriver) and one above the springs. This solves the issue perfectly.

Flexible and practical, fast usb 2.0 and type C!

Product as described, delivered in time, all as it should be. Build quality feels good, cable is sturdy and feels like it will last a good while although not as flexible as the braided sheaths. The second usb 2.0 socket makes it very flexible for almost all portable devices and the high power rating is really great - once experienced, hard to do without!
The only downside is that the head of the plug is large enough to stop the socket test lid closing but, in fairness, this would be true of all the chargers that sit above the socket rather than fit flush. Overall, am happy with this purchase and would recommend for anybody who has devices with both sockets.
