About the Author
Author: Lisa Manzione
The Bella and Harry series of children's books is Lisa Manzione's first foray into children's fiction writing. As amember of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), Lisa's entrance into the field of literature is one she has eagerly awaited and is very passionate about. As the daughter of a single parent who worked for a major airline, Lisa's exposure to (and interest in) travel began at an early age. Later in life, as Lisa's own children grew up and her love of animals continued, the idea for the Bella and Harry series was born.
Illustrator: Kristine Lucco
Born in rural Pennsylvania, Kristine's passion for art began at a young age. This interest in art continued and ultimately led Kristine to study at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.
Now a mother of two avid junior readers, Kristine s unique talent and particular flair for children s themes has evolved quite naturally into the world of children s books and illustrations. She is quick to credit her own children for inspiring this phase of her art, as it is often conceived by seeing the characters and places through their eyes.
In addition to her work on the Bella and Harry series, Kristine has also illustrated the most recently recognized children s book, Wacky Jacky, The True Story of an Unlikely Beauty Queen .

After our two puppy heroes, brother and sister, visited Istanbul, London, Barcelona, Cairo, Paris and other beautiful cities all around the world in this installment together with their family they will visit Hawaii. There they will visit famous Hawaiian sights – National Park Haleakala with volcano crater, Honokalani black sand beach, Wailau Waterfall and others.
Where this book together with all other in series really shines are illustrations full of color that in exciting and informative way manage to present particular city or region, as this time is the case with Maui.
Therefore, ‘Let's Visit Maui!’ is an recommended book for the youngest children who by using it besides opportunity to learn in the interactive way about particular part of our beautiful planet also promote the ideas of diversity and closeness between people regardless of where they come from. And because of these valuable lessons but also due to the nice book design I can recommend Manzione/Lucco book for the kids 1 year and older who will enjoy it together with their parents.

Maui is one of the group of islands that make up Hawaii. These islands were formed by volcanoes and are situated in the Pacific Ocean.
The Adventures of Bella & Harry are nicely bound and stitched books and will hold up to a lot of enjoyment and I heartily recommend the series for home libraries, school libraries, and public libraries.
As Chat With Vera's readers already know, I love it when a young child's book is entertaining as well as educational. There is such a dearth of instruction in the schools and textbooks today, that children are not gaining knowledge of the world in which they live, where countries are located, what country is neighbor to another, what the cultural aspects of the population is, what the land mass is, and if it is dissected by rivers or surrounded by water. It is sad. But there are some books on the market that you can use to enlighten and bring the world home to your special child. When the opportunity presents itself, I review books that introduce social studies and cultures. I previously reviewed two very large books of maps (or atlas) featuring pictures of the history, peoples, animals, land formations, etc. Chat With Vera wants children to learn about their world.
