this and 'standing on the verge of getting it on'(Eddie Hazels best moment contrary to popular beleif) are the most underrated of Funkadelic's albums. This actually sounds like the halfway point between funkadelic and parliament and is a very consistent album on the whole. It is much rawer than the later Warner albums and is all the better for it.The band is superb and this album has what is argubly the all time best line up inc. Eddie Hazel, Bootsy and bernie Worrel who does a fantastic instrumental all on his own at the end. I'd highly recommend it to any fan of funk and to people who just like eccentric, interesting and inventive music. Definately the band at their best - also check out standing on the verge and Maggot brain. Those three are equally the best in my opinion and everyone should own them all!

This CD starts brilliantly with the track Good to Your Earhole, but ends poorly with the final track Atmosphere. This final track is 7 minute instrumental which I just didn't take to, whereas the first track is an upbeat Funk number which is fun to listen to. This really tells the story of this CD. The first six tracks are just excellent Funky 'feel good' numbers, whereas the 2nd side seems to me to be alot more experimental and therefore disappointing. I would still recommend this cd, but if possible listen to tracks 7-10 before you buy it.

Truly remarkable album that like all their others is canon to the history of funk. Own it.

One of the more diverse Funkadelic albums in my opinion. Some of this sounds like it would have fit a Parliament release. Every song pounds you with thick grooves and unmistakeable funk. Again, another funk canon album and a must own for funk fans. Better By The Pound, the title track and of course Get Off Your Ass And Jam stand out as exceptional. Again every song delivers and will not disappoint.
Best Funkadelic source.

I am slowly re-building my Vinyl collection with albums that are missing. I always wanted the early Funkadelic on vinyl and I was using another on-line source and every time I place an order it would take 4 weeks for my purchase to arrive. After searching for another source I checked Amazon and almost everything I wanted was in stock and since I am a Prime customer they arrived in days not weeks. I also have to say that I was worried about purchasing Vinyl on-line since I am an old school guy who like to look and feel before I purchase. The packaging that Amazon uses is awesome and I have yet to have any damaged product come my way.By the way the music is incredible and while George Clinton and the boys are not for everyone I highly suggest you give this music a try. It will blow your mind.

This is one of Funkadelic's weirder ones. It's still good, but the lyrics tend to be a little unsettling in the same way as the album art. It's also a little on the slower side as compared to other Funkadelic albums of the same era.
Great album for Parliament/Funkadelic fans

Replaced a lost/stolen vinyl copy. Hard to find through record shops & if you do, it's expensive. Purchased here because iTunes offers it for $9.99 - a 30% difference. Great album for Parliament/Funkadelic fans. The only question I have is WHEN will their "Uncle Jam Wants You" album be available for download?
Fantastic Album, Get Up and Get Down!!!!!

My favorite group of all times. I partied with the Funkadelic's in high school back in the day. I LOVE this album. I bought the album when It came out and I still have it today. It is worth gold. Party onward and upwards with Funkadelic!!!!!!!!
