Review

From New York Times bestselling author Marie Force, creator of the beloved McCarthys of Gansett Island, Quantum and Fatal series, comes the second book in her Green Mountain series. Fans of Debbie Macomber, Susan Mallery and Jill Shalvis will love the heartwarming, sexy romance series centered on the lives of the Abbott family.

It isn't until she opens herself up to love that she'll truly discover how fulfilling life can be...

Almost seven years after losing her husband in Iraq, Hannah Abbott Guthrie isn't sure she's ready - or able - to move on, for fear of betraying her husband's memory. That is until a sweet kiss shared with lifelong friend Nolan Roberts makes her think about it for the first time.

Nolan has loved Hannah for years, but understood she needed to heal from her devastating loss. Now, when an opportunity arises to show her how he feels, Nolan can't resist, yet knows he has to prove to Hannah that finding love twice in a lifetime is possible - and well worth risking her heart.

***Let Me Hold Your Hand is published in the USA as I Want To Hold Your Hand***

Oh my goodness where do I start! This book was sad, funny, sexy and oh so good! I loved Nolan and you just know that he is such a good man, he waited what seemed like his entire life for his perfect woman and it wasn't easy, boy does she test him! You just can't help falling in love with both Nolan and Hannah, they are so funny and romantic at the same time! I loved the fact that they both fell and once they got there, there was no holding back!
I also loved the little bits about the other siblings and can't wait to read more about this wonderful lovely family. I'ts hard for me to say this is my favorite as I love all of Marie's books but this book will always have a soft spot in my heart, until the next one comes out!!!

Let Me Hold Your Hand is the second book in the Green Mountain romance series, which focuses on the Abbott family. It is not necessary to have read the book before (Your Love Is All I Need), though I would recommend it as then you get to enjoy more from the Abbott family and really get to know them. I was so excited to read Let Me Hold Your Hand – the cover had me straight away and I loved the sound of it too.

Hannah lost her husband seven years ago when he was in Iraq, and since then Hannah hasn’t felt ready or able to move on. However, the attentions of her lifelong friend Nolan are making her start to think differently, and their shared kiss is constantly in her thoughts, but Hannah is afraid of betraying her husband’s memory. Nolan has loved Hannah for many years, and has been conscious of giving Hannah the space she needs to heal. After an opportunity allows Nolan to show Hannah how he feels, he knows it will take more than a kiss to prove to Hannah that finding love again is possible…

I need to just say how completely and utterly I have fallen in love with Marie’s writing! I would even say that this book is my favourite of Marie’s so far. As soon as I had finished I instantly wanted to re-read and experience this wonderful story all over again.

Marie has perfectly captured the pain and emotion that comes with losing a loved one. Hannah’s grief and emotion over the loss of her husband was very real and raw – it touched me and I wanted to reach out to her and give her a big hug. I liked Hannah straight away, I really felt that I understood her and she felt like a friend to me. I admired Hannah’s bravery, courage and her spirit in life too. I spent the entire book rooting for Hannah to have her happiness, whatever form it may come in.

Oh my, I was literally sobbing and laughing at the same time!
As always Marie Force gets us enthralled with the story by page one and reading with our hearts instead of our heads!
Thoroughly recommend along with a large box of tissues and a room all to yourself during chapter 16.

This has got to be one of if not the best book I have ever read , it's not often an author can capture the raw human emotion that comes from losing a loved one . But Marie did. I cried so hard reading this book , the beautiful story between Hannah and Nolan was so well written, I felt like I was there every step of the way . Another fab book by Marie , I look forward to Coltons story next xxx ( if I could give 100 stars I would !!) :)

A truly beautiful story, well worth reading, again Marie has captured the characters and made you believe this was real life. Nolan is a sweetheart and Hannah is a lucky girl to find love a second time round. I could not put the book down. The Abbotts have grown on me just like the McCarthy's can't wait for the next one book.

35y.o heroine feels finally ready to move on from grieving her beloved husband's death 7 years ago. But she's unsure about it and especially the feelings her husband's close friend, 35yo. town-mechanic Hero, makes her feel. Hero has been waiting for her the last 5 years and grabs at the chance at romance with her. Their relationship is complicated by her tangled emotions about her husband and him and keeping their romance private from the people in their small Vermont town. Heroine realizes that Hero is keeping some things private from her. Is he willing to risk his fledgling but long-awaited romance with her to hold on to his secrets?

This was an odd romance book. I couldn't figure out who the real hero was of this book and what place the romance between Hero and heroine had in the overall story.** The issues of grief and loss and how it impacted a close-knit community were written well. I just thought it overwhelmed the book and superseded the main romance. The characters were flushed out quite well. I usually don't like when the book spends a lot of time on the secondary characters. But, since the main characters in this book were unusually presented, I was drawn in to the multiple secondary characters & the hints of romance between some of them. Overall, the romance between Hero and heroine was solid and mature. They went through quite a bit of emotional entanglements in the book together and had some sexy times on the side. It made for a sweet romance but it wasn't the main focus of the book.

Mildly recommended.
