A funny, often insightful self-help guide to discovering the lesbian within (LIFE)
It's a million laughs (NEWSDAY)
Helen Eisenbach, lesbianism has always been easy! You just figured that out? Silly girl (RITA MAE BROWN)
It's canny and campy, tender but butch, trashy, sexy, witty and informative. In other words, it's not just important, it's silly (JOHN Q WEIR, author of THE IRREVERSIBLE DECLINE OF EDDIE SOCKET)

I read this a couple of years ago at a time I was feeling very low and it made me laugh all the way through, though it has an underlying serious message about the importance of self esteem and self acceptance that's relevant to all women not just lesbians. Read it again recently and got more laughs and food for thought out of it. One of the most enjoyable books about being a lesbian and the trials and pleasures of it I've ever read. Parts of it are very thought provoking, a lot of it is irreverent and all of it is fun. Whether just coming out, in the closet or been out for years this book is well worth reading.

This book is one of my favourites. The sections on how to pull straight women made me laugh until I cried. I have to keep retrieving my copy from friends' houses as it seems to be the one book they all (male or female) want to borrow-which is always a good sign. Full of funny, more importantly witty writing with a sense of sassy maturity this book makes me feel smile just thinking about it. I would recommend this book to anyone who knows how to laugh at themselves with their tongue in their cheek!

Once again Amazon, for reasons unexplained, has chosen to censor my review. You cannot read it here, but you can read it on my blog (Ian Wood's Novellum) or on Goodreads.

A funny, astute guide to Sapphic romance that was rather groundbreaking when it came out. It's a reason to celebrate that it has now been re-released.
