... with personal relationships! I bought this well-known book (which needs no introduction to English readers) because I thought it would improve my French. The topic is one that one might find oneself discussing in France and, because it is largely in the present tense, it avoids the past historic which is not very useful for the would-be French speaker. It has certainly worked for me in addition to giving me much insight into the workings of the impenetrable minds of men. Yet I jibbed at the love letters he suggests a woman should write to her partner, beginning with all her complaints before telling of her love. And as for his giving up one patient a week so that he could give that time to his wife as if she were a patient - words fail me as do les mots!!!
