The unit isn't too big, quite light and the raised feet certainly helped me find a place for it amongst my limited space. A clear dust cover was a nice touch, I wanna see those records spin!
The sound is really good, no noticeable skipping and the quality is almost as good as a CD as long as you keep your records clean (a carbon fibre brush is good for this) and store them properly (don't stack them on top of each other). There's a function to record straight to a USB stick but I have no plans to use this feature. If you just want to play Vinyl, can't go too wrong with this Lenco!
Just as a disclaimer I did not buy this from Amazon but I figured I might as well be the first to put down a review on here and help people out :)
I did a bit of research which included going to a local hi fi shop which basically blinded me with superiority as they where clearly hi fi people! Basically they advised I would need to spend north of £350 to get a noticeable difference from my Ion. I couldn't justify spending that amount Vs how much I actually used it so did some research and found this turntable.
The Amazon reviews as well as what hi-fi awarding it budget turntable of the year persuaded me into purchasing along with some active speakers Edifer R1280T so all in under £200.
I main thing about the Turntable is quality, every detail of the design have clearly been well thought out and even the way it was packaged was clear quality.
I think the sound is fantastic, it is beyond comparison to my previous Ion and I do really feel I have upgraded to a decent standard.
If you want to spend serious money on set up you can but for me this met my needs and expectations perfectly at a decent price.
As to why I've bought it, started buying records, especially when I just said I wasn't sound obsessed, especially when I'm now buying vinyl versions of stuff I have on CD, which I used to have on vinyl, I suppose it's akin to Elton John's – or more accurately Tim Rice's – 'Circle of Life', as in, I've nearly gone full circle and am repeating myself in a forlorn effort to recapture a youth forever lost in the mists, nay, the miasma, of time. Pathetic I know, but it's a lovely shade of yellow.
