It never ceases to amaze me how anyone can come up with a 'new' and original idea for a children's story, when SO many have been written. This is a delightful, believeable story with gorgeous illustrations. All my grandchildren love it! One may be forgiven for completely forgetting that it is about a WILD animal that prefers to live in social groups - not teapots!

this book is quite unusual. It has a kind of mischievous eccentricity which is brilliantly depicted in the ever inventive and humorous illustrations. The illustrations are so full of detail that you must take time over each one, and you find a joke round every corner.... and they are geat art. Keep one for yourself; don't give all your copies away when it comes to Christmas time!

This captivating book with beautiful illustrations has leapt straight to our bedtime story favourite. Humour, interest in the origins of lemur and orchid, identification with the little girl and some great words like "squiffling" all resonate with 3 and 5 year old - and me. More like this please!
