It has often been said that you can best judge the quality of a sporting team by the talents of the players left out, and never has this been better illustrated than with ESPN's Legends Of Cricket. No one could argue that the English have boasted a vast array of excellent cricketers throughout history, with names such as Andrew Flintoff, David Gower and Michael Atherton. However, this fascinating programme aims to pick out the very best of the bunch. A distinguished panel of 15 extremely highly regarded cricketing authorities, including Wasim Akram, Ian Botham, Allan Border and Dickie Bird, will aim to pick out history s very best English cricketers. Featuring superb, action packed archive footage and in-depth interviews with the selected players, Legends of Cricket: England really is a must have for all cricket enthusiasts. Featuring Len Hutton, WG Grace, Ian Botham, Wally Hammond and Sir Jacob Hobbs

Whilst I cannot disagree with the selection of players showcased (at the time the DVD was produced), or the information and footage featured, what really grated on me was the constant interruption of music played as - I assume - the programmes went to a commercial break when original aired. Why wasn't this edited out for the DVD release? All rather sloppy in my opinion, and considerably spoils the experience if you intend to watch the entire DVD in one sitting.
