never completed a 3d zelda game before this! yes i know i'm kinda late, but i remember my brother playing it a lot when we were younger and he's been going on to me about it for years! now i understand the hype and this game has made me wanna play all of the other zelda games. truly underrated game and i will never understand why it gets hated on so much! yea i understand the motion controls were annoying on the wii, but skyward sword on the switch is so much better. 9/10 for me and game of the year so far in my opinion.

I never played Skyward sword on the Nintendo Wii, I missed out on such a classic gem and had to settle with Twilight Princess instead which wasn't as nearly as adventurous.
Ive seen comparing side by side gameplay between the original and the switch remake, and after buying my own Wii copy to compare along side I can see a huge improvement in the style of gameplay and the rendered textured. even the soundtrack is improved.
Controls were changed a lot on the switch version, mainly due to the Wii version having motion plus controls which was a new thing for the Wii. With the Motion controls removed and instead changed to the Joy-cons you do lose a bit of free control on the sword swings, but its easily worked around. the joycons are still a nice touch and gave some credit to the original, but that nostalgic feel is no longer there. As a added bonus on the switch you can use a pro controller for the more modern gamer, so everyone can enjoy the game and the story that awaits.
Overall they did a good job on the remake, and fixed some issues along the way, fine tuning areas without ruining it for returning fans. I missed out on this game for the Wii but im so glad to get to play it for the Switch.
I did get the steel book with my copy, the steel book is alright, not much a fan of steel books. they seem overpriced for something that is for display purposes. The artwork outside and inside are all excellent.

Brilliantly updated for the switch, making it compatible with handheld mode and motion controls, great fun and highly recommended. Can’t wait for them to release another instalment on the Switch.

Bought this for my young nephew. Was disappointed upon playing the game with him that this was a "remastered" version of an old Wii game, and the controls are at best clunky on the switch. It seems all software companies can do nowadays is regurgitate their old product. Shame.

If you are a big fan of Steelbooks then I would get this as the Steelbooks can double up as a Game card case just incase you lose your original game card case
