About the Author

L.B. Dunbar loves the original legend of King Arthur. Inspired by this classic tale, she pulled over to the side of the road to take notes when it hit her that if King Arthur lived today, he'd be a rock star. A lover of fairy tales, myths, legends, and anything with happily ever after, she loves to read and write contemporary romance. Her Legendary Rock Stars series is complete with the final tale: The Trials of Guinevere DeGrance, but the story begins with The Legend of Arturo King. She also wrote The Sensations Collection, which includes five stand alones based on the five senses in a small town setting near Lake Michigan. Raised on one side of that lake, she grew up in Michigan, but now lives on the other side, in Chicago. Mother to four, wife to the one and only, and teacher to hundreds of former students, she looks forward to sharing more stories in the future.

As I discussed before I am a complete book snob, it's not even really that, it's just I know what I like in a novel and I know what doesn't work for me. Rock stars fall into that iffy hit-or-miss category simply because any time I have delved into the world of rock gods I come out annoyed and bored from the tedium of groupies and drugs and heavy-laden angst. But to discover that L.B Dunbar who up until now has been the queen of tender-hearted romance reminiscent of Mia Sheridan's writing, was turning her hand to a much more raunchy and darker tale and one that took the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table transforming it into an almost unrecognisable but astonishing modern day story I was beyond intrigued, in fact I felt rather nervous for her but that was my problem because the woman has created magic in a world about music and managed to make it look effortless. I managed to complete The Legend of Arturo King in one sitting, I had the leg cramp and caffeine jitters to prove it.

"I love you, Once." His voice was breathy as he said the words before we hung up.
"I love you Future."

The whole story was so well written and each detail and event and consequence was executed by what felt like an author who was about to publish her twentieth novel, not her fourth and in only a year at that. Not only was each character name and trait distinguishable and connected someway to King Arthur's legend but they're written in such a way that they burrow under your skin until you need to learn more about them, nurture them through the bad and sigh with happiness when it goes their way.

Well what can I say about this book..just oh wow! Not a big fan of long reviews with spoilers in it. I think if someone says it's good or great or brilliant, that means more than a long winded review! This is a good, great and brilliant book and so worthy of the five stars. It takes an old tale and makes it into a modern take and it really does work. I have already one clicked the next book and hope I get answers in it that I didn't get in this one. Don't be put off by the fact you are left wondering Wtf at the end of Arturos and guinnies story because if book one is anything to go by, you will go straight for book two in the series....love it and am glad it was recommended to me x

"I love you, once", I whispered in her ear.
"I love you, Future," she mumbled through choked tears .

Oh wow what an epic read this was,
Out of the hundreds of books I've read in the past couple of years I can only think of two rock star book's that I've actually enjoyed see my problem when it comes to rock star book's is that author's more often than not turn the book into a cheese fest now I don't mind a little bit of cheese in my books but author's don't turn my rockers cheesy anyway I've had this book on my kindle for some time now but I've always been to chicken to start it until yesterday when a friend of mine was raving about it,oh man was I kicking my own arss for waiting so long to read this,I was utterly captivated from the first page L.B Dunbar has done a magnificent job of retelling the story of King Arthur and the knights of the round table and turning them into modern day rock stars.Ultimately this is a love story and one of the most beautiful written love stories I've read,Arturo and guinevere's love story is one filled with passion and betrayal as well as many twists and turns and that ending oh my I don't think my one-click finger has ever moved so fast I just had to have the next book,The Legend of Arturo King is not only one of the best books I've read this year but one of the best I've had the pleasure to read,5 stars highly recommend.

Holy smokes! This was so amazing I literally could not put it down. Such a fab story and the characters are addicting! Ok so, what I liked.....
The sex. It was hot enough to get the feels without being too much that it made you want to skim read.
The suspense. I was hanging on to every word, trying to piece bits together and figure out what was going on.
The different points of view. Sometimes I find it repetitive when books tell the same thing from different PoV's but this was refreshingly not like that at all and I think it was actually a necessity for the story to be told this way.
The non-whiney heroine. At first I was like, seriously? A virgin?! But she's strong, determined and sexy.
I love you once. Need I say more.
What I didn't like so much.....
It to me a while to warm up to Artoro. And I'm not sure how to pronounce his name. I found myself calling him a whole heap of randomness throughout the story. And I like Lans better (don't shoot me!)
The ending....what????? How can you love me hanging like that! I need to know what's happening!
Sweet Jesus I need book 2...give me more Lans!

Ok so I very quickly worked out this was King Arthur with a modern day twist. A very interesting concept.

I had a couple of issues with this book. For a start, you really are getting a lot of book for your money but I feel that it is slightly over-wordy. But then given that it’s a retelling of an old classic, I’m presuming the author wanted to show her descriptive skills off, but I feel she went a little overboard with it.

My other issue was the amount of characters in this book. Yes King Arthur had a lot of knights and this book had a lot of characters that I found difficult to keep up with who was who.

But, saying that, I can’t really fault the book’s ability to engage the reader. It’s a very interesting premise and I liked reading all the twists and turns. The intrigue kept me guessing til near the end.
