got this for my year 3 little girl whose homework is times tables, she loves it and because it's timed she's playing against us to see who can get the fastest time, she certainly wouldn't have practised half this much if I'd just written the sums out for her
I'm a teenager who has all ways struggled with times tables, I am in top set maths but it is holding me back so I talked to my teacher about it and she gave me a game but it made me feel stupid because it was for Key stage 2. So I decided to take matters into my own hands and looked for some apps. This app not only is addictive (beating times and scores) but it doesn't feel childish or for young children. I have got much more confident with my times tables an would strongly advise you get it.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because you can't see you past scores or have a leader board. But that's my only issue.
My daughter is / was rubbish at times-tables, however this app has proven exceptional in terms of getting her to think, clearly demonstrated by the fact it will jumble a selected tables order & quiz you against the clock, you can clearly see yourself improving.
Motivational without unnecessary added junk! ..ideal for a 5 minute challenge without taking your eye off the ball (sic).
It's free, simple and does what it says, hence 5 stars. Yes it would be good to have some tweaks such as allowing you to set time max time limit or remembering your high score in order that you can beat it. In a nutshell you decide how many and which timestables you want to be tested on and it selects a random bag covering every option. The time limit increases if you select more tables. My mum makes us do this in the car on the way to and from school before we are allowed to play a game or read. Hate to admit I'm better at maths now ?!
