Great baroque pop from one of my favourite 60s bands. I think it's a better album overall than their first one (although how I can quite justify that when Pretty Ballerina & She May Call You Up Tonight stand proud on the grooves of their earlier effort!). Slightly more obscure melodies on this album but they offer you more long-term satisfaction - and the band had shaken off their eagerness to sound like the British invasion groups by this time. A musical shelf life that made the Monkees seem like seasoned campaigners can't detract from the quality of "Too".

Great packing and service. Recommend this seller. This is a great piece of music. Desiree alone is worth the admission price. Baroque, overblown and romantic but the beauty and originality of the tunes make this essential. Their first LP is also essential and unique.

A lovely psychedelic gem. A great find. Dark is the Bark my favourite. Almost every track you imagine would be from a soundtrack from a cult 60's film. Lovely.

HASH(0x8e56a618) out of 5 stars Great Re-Issue - Great Album 29 Jun. 2011
By Popper - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
This is a wonderful re-issue from Sundazed with a nice mini-LP sleeve and informative booklet. The songs on the album are really quite good - in my opinion, just as strong as those on the first album. The arrangments are great and the vocals are very solid. I'm surprised how much I'm enjoying it. "Desiree" should have been a big hit, but there are other songs here that are equally as good. If you like late 60's pop with a touch of orchestration, this would come highly recommended.

HASH(0x8e56a66c) out of 5 stars musically solid 24 Sept. 2011
By Joseph L. Kolb - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
i'm really glad both left banke's records have been reissued and are available again. i'm really surprised nothing came of the second release. there were some legal issues with their name and a couple songs, Desiree and Dark is the Bark did not fair well in radio play. musically this is a solid if not slightly better than their first release. again, sundazed did a great job with this reissue and provide an informative booklet about the history of this release. no extra material though. i love the harmonies of left banke. very beatlesque in a classical baroque manner. this is highly recommended if your a fan of pop music of the 60s.

It is a crime that this album did not get the air time it deserved. It is almost as good as the first album which doesn't have a bad song on it . Desiree is a great song, and the beautiful voice of Steve Martin Caro cannot fail to give you goosebumps. This man can put any other rock singer to shame and he was barely out of his teens when these songs were recorded. I always wish this band would have gone on for many more years. It would have been a pleasure to listen to anything Steve Martin Caro sang. The true potential of this band was never realized, and I think all Left Banke fans know this, but we also have a small number of songs that are one of the best kept secrets in the history of rock. If you have never heard anything from The Left Banke except Walk Away Renee' you don't know what you're missing. Try Shadows Breaking Over My Head and Pretty Ballerina from the first album. You won't be disappointed!
HASH(0x8ec311d4) out of 5 stars And Then There Were Three 29 April 2015

An unexpectedly great album which grows better and better with each listening. I was among the "what's the point" crowd when I first saw this - with little or no Michael Brown involvement, why bother? Boy, was I wrong. The other members of the band were the main vocalists and they were as much a part of the trademark sound as were the great Michael Brown songs. The three remaining members were able to come up with some great songs on their own. However, the stunning "Desiree" leaves you wondering what might have been if they had been able to resolve their differences and continue as a team. I especially enjoyed "Nice To See You" with pre-Aerosmith Steven Tyler on harmonies.

HASH(0x8e56c1b0) out of 5 stars Left Banke Too should be as one. 14 Nov. 2013
By Richard P. Mccabe - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
The songs aren't as good as the first Left Banke album. Since both were full of short songs I think they should have been both issued as one CD but then that would cut sales in half I guess. "There's gonna be a Storm" has pretty much everything the Left Banke recorded but is out of print. These guys were much more than 2 hit wonders. Lot's of great songs on both, with the first having the lion's share.
