This palm-sized power torch is only 96 mm long but sends a bright white LED beam up to 31 m away - easily enough for most near and some far-distance lighting needs. So small that it can be put in a pocket or attached to a key-ring it is a real illumination powerhouse, with easy-slide single-hand speed focus from flood to spot, and a slightly over-size lamp head for increased range. The quality of light is exceptional as the P3BM uses distinct blue moon focus technology to separate out the blue light, pushing it to the edges to leave a strong central core of captivating white light. Unlike conventional bulbs, LEDs can last up to 50,000 hours, which means the only thing likely to need changing at some point is the single AAA battery (supplied). As that battery is inside a body made from ultra-light, high-strength aluminium, with energy-efficient inner gold plated contacts to aid conductivity, it is likely this torch will give dependable service for years to come.
Supplied with: Wrist-strap, belt/storage pouch and duracell batteries (1 x AAA)
Peace of Mind
A warranty recognised by the industry is backed up by a clever modular construction in many of the torches which means that should a replacement part be required the whole torch does not need to be discarded. This provides long term user value.

Now I got the P3 - and was sorely disappointed when the same faults were present after a few days fresh from the box!! Yes, random turning on in my bag (definitely NOT due to accidental switch press), flickering while being shaken, and refusal to turn on and off. I simply do not trust the LED Lenser brand with their switches, and will not be buying it again.
If we put the switch issue aside, the light is just acceptable to have on your key ring, size-wise. I like that it's powered by an AAA battery and not the annoying button cells like the K3. The focus adjustment was worse than on K3 - it's really loose, whereas on the K3 there was a nice smooth resistance as you slid the tip of the torch forward and backward. The brightness I would say is the same as the K3, so if this is supposed to have any upgraded optics, I do not see it. The light has a strong blue tint to it, which to be honest I am tired of now. Pure white light gives much better visibility. When you're in the focus mode which gives a sharp-edged circle, the middle of the circle is less bright than the edges - perhaps unavoidable due to the lens, but again, not great.
Finally - back to the switch - I am not sure if it's because mine is faulty or it's meant to be like this, but you can turn the light on by half-pressing the switch (i.e. it turns on before the click). I know it can be a torch feature, but for a keyring torch I think this is stupid because it will get partially pressed all the time by other objects, and waste the battery. I would only have the light activate with a positive, forceful click.
So, unfortunately, my experience with this brand has not been great and the most significant issue is with an unreliable switch. The low price does not justify getting a torch which at the moment of greatest need may not switch on, or turn out to have wasted all the battery power.
UPDATE: I have since bought a Thrunite T10 torch and find it brilliant. It's nearly twice as expensive, but is incredibly well built, has a much brighter light of a natural white tint with good throw, and three brightness levels. It also works off an AA battery which is the most common one of all. And it comes with a handy white plastic slip-on diffuser which turns it into a "candle" if necessary. It's about the same size as the P3, perhaps even a little shorter.
9 months in and unfortunately the switch has gone on the back of this torch and yet I'm still going to give it a solid five stars because in that time I have used it in every weather next to the sea and on canal boats (so always in a corrosive environment) the thing that actually killed it was a battery leak. Moral of the story; buy good batteries and check the battery every few months in case it's leaking inside! I will probably buy another one as I use torches in such harsh conditions I can't afford to break a more expensive one and it'll cost me more to buy a bunch of cheapo ones!
The performance is great and lights up a huge area. Its much brighter than an IPhone torch and i take it with me whenever i walk home at night incase i walk down a street with no street lights and makes me feel a lot safer. I would say it can light up everything from 15 - 20 metres away.
It seems pretty sturdy and i cant think of much to improve it. Battery life is also a big plus, it only takes one AAA battery. I really hope this helps someone.
