About the Author

Hi! I'm Maggie Adams. I live near St. Louis, MO with my high school sweetheart, Ned, and my wonderful kids, Katie (Kyle) and Ross (Valerie). My life is like a walking, talking sitcom from I Love Lucy, but I love it, although people do tend to keep their distance from me! Writing has always been my dream, with reading my favorite hobby. I try to include a little bit of my life in everything I write, so when you read my books, keep your eyes wide open - I'm in there somewhere! Happy reading! Loved the love story between the hot headed stubborn Sam and the patient Angel who waited 15yrs for him to return home after all the storm & upset her Father coursed, it tells about the pass & present of what happened & what went wrong & then how the course of what he see's as nearly loosing her, he stands his righteous ground. Love these stubbon hot headed Coalson Men ;-) can't wait for Tempered Steel 3 :-D
Thanks Maggie for yet another great book <3

WHAT DID I THINK?
I am totally stupid, is what I think, I read Leather and Lace which is actually book 2 in the Tempered Steel series!!! I should have started off with Whistlin' Dixie (book 1), but saying that I did find that it was still enjoyable from start to finish but please read book 1 and get the whole feel of the series. Now saying that I messed up and did not read book 1 first, I can honestly say it did not detract from the enjoyment of the book. (Off to read book 1 now lol)

REVIEW *****
This story has it all, over protective father, high-school sweethearts, romance, heartache, danger, mystery, but it does not end there as it has much more.

Angel loves Sam, and he loves her, but Angel's father is having none of it and makes sure Sam is out of his daughter's life. They say true love never runs smooth and this can be said in this story.

Sam is upset with Angel, he really believes Angel was on her father's side and not his, but will the stubborn Sam ever give Angel the time of day, well long enough to explain she wasn't??

Truly exciting, gripping read, with some amazing characters, these are almost brought to life as you read, you will be smiling one minute and tearful the next.

There are many twists and turns, this book can be read as a stand alone which is how I read it, but I think that reading book one Whistlin Dixie would have been sensible, so that I could have been already up-to-date with the Coalson brothers.

After Mac Coalson’s story “Whistlin’ Dixie”, I was really looking forward to the next in the Coalson brother series. Now Maggie Adams is back with Sam Coalson’s love story. After reading the story, I really felt that the wait was worth every anxious second spent. The book not only lives up to the expectations, but also goes beyond it.

Sam and Angel feel perfect for each other right from the word ‘go’. They were childhood sweethearts and it could have been a perfect happily ever after. However unforeseen circumstances and difficult choices from both ends separate them from each other and thus put an end to a perfect love story. But two people who are meant to be together, always do end up together. That is how the Universe conspires. And that is how it happens here as well.

The thing to look out for in this book is not the romance. The romance is typical and anyone who reads Romance novels know that the protagonists always end up together. The factor that is a USP here is the way the story goes. The flow of the story, the suspense in between and the perseverance of Sam and Angel at various points of the story is catching factor here. It is said that a healthy relationship does not consist of two strong people; it consists of two people who take turns to be strong when the other one is weak. Maggie brings this line perfectly into use with the story and that holds the crux of Sam and Angel’s relationship. The story feels as real as any true love story. Coalson brothers do have a knack of nailing the lessons of relationship deep into the readers’ mind. Read it to know how a relationship truly is, with all of its ups and downs.

I received a copy of 'Leather & Lace' in exchange for my honest review.

Having finished 'Leather & Lace' today... after reading book 1 just the other day, I was intrigued to find out what was going to happen in this book. 'Leather & Lace' is book 2 of the "Tempered Steel" series, I suggest that you read book 1 'Whistlin' Dixie' first, as you get an in-depth look onto the Coalson family. Also 'Leather & Lace' starts pretty much at the end of 'Whistlin' Dixie's timeline, events continue on from book 1 also.

There is so much history, love, hurting & secrets needing to be out in the open between Sam & Angel that it takes most of the book to finally understand everything, not only do we learn the reasons from the past but so does Sam. Whilst there story is coming together things in the sleepy home town that they grew up in is becoming dangerous... so much action happening in this book & the series. I can't wait to read what Maggie has in mind for the next book & the rest of the series. Will be keeping my eyes peeled.
