PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: Scratch Doctor's 'Colour Coat' has been designed as a DIY re-colouring kit that allows you to match your leather colour exactly. Each 'Colour Coat' Kit comes with a selection of tints allowing you to alter the colour to match up your leather. INSTRUCTIONS: Easy to follow instructions are included with each kit. To match your colour: Start off by applying a small drop of the base colour onto the leather with a cotton wool bud. Let it dry then evaluate the colour. If it is too dark, add a light colour (e.g. white) to the mix to lighten it, and so on. If it needs to be more cream, add a small amount of yellow or tan - you do this until the colour matches exactly. Our instructions tell you exactly what to do. Then, once you have a perfect colour match, you apply the colour onto the damage to make it blend in. COVERAGE: 60ml = 576 sq inch (24*24) / 3600 sq cm (60*60) CONTENTS: Base Colour and Tints Matt and Gloss finish Application sponge, Cotton Buds, Mixing Cup etc. Step by Step Instructions

The kit was comprehensive and contained everything required to recolour the leather. A large bottle of the base brown was accompanied by several bottles of colour with which to adjust the shade of brown to match the leather. I tried the brown on a test area and it appeared to be a perfect match at first, but once dry, the shade was a little too light. Following the instructions included with the kit, I added a little black & magenta in equal quantities to darken down the colour and this time the shade was perfect.
Next came the clear coat. The kit comes with a bottle of gloss and a bottle of matt clear to match the sheen of your leather. My first coat was with straight matt as the leather was not particularly shiny, but the resulting sheen when dry was far too dull. For the second coat, I mixed gloss and matt in equal quantities and the result was a great match. The headrest was given a final buff all over with a cloth.
The final results are so good, it's no longer possible to see where the damage was and I couldn't be more pleased. I'm an amateur watercolour artist so mixing and matching of shades comes quite easily. I can thoroughly recommend this kit, but would suggest that if you aren't confident about mixing shades, that you practise on an area that cannot be seen first.
* It's over a year Now since I used and reviewed this little kit so I thought an update might be worth doing. The treated chair has seen a lot of use in that time and I still can't actually detect the areas which were damaged on the headrest so it's standing the test of time really well.
Love this dye. Perfect dye. Read the instructions and you will get perfect results!!! Everything you need included in a box of pure magic!
Used the sponge supplied to apply the dye and as soon as the first coat was applied the cracks were covered. The sofa and chair now look absolutely great. I would definitely recommend this dye.
I tried this product and I agree with the many reviews here.
Purchased IVORY, it comes with clear instructions. It looks dark in the pot, but I advise to try it on a small section with the provided cotton buds.
Let it dry (it gets darker when dry) and play around with the additional colors until you find the perfect match (again, check when it is dry!).
It has been a week now, and the sofa looks great. I am not good at DIY, but this this very easy to use. Just be patience.
Excellent product. Save the sofa for the cost of one bottle.
Will buy again.
please note that you will need to prepair your area with white spirit first. maybe they could add a little bottle in the kit as some people would have it to hand.

Incredible stuff. Used it to touch up cracks and scuffs in red leather car seats. You get the base colour and about 4 or 5 other colours to blend in to get a colour match. Read morePublished 11 days ago by Tele
