If you love you chicklit and romance stories with a twist and feel of real life then this book is for you.
I didn't fall head over heals for this book but I did like how Pamela writes so effortlessly making the book easy to read. With dialog that feels like it is happening around you and characters you can instantly imagine as friends.
This book focuses around William a five year old, his mum Wendy, his dad Jon, Williams godmother Tina. Wendy and Jon are happily married but Tina is hiding a big secret from Jon.
Wendy and Jons story starts after both of their set of parents are killed in a coach crash in London. Finding solice and understanding in each other they fall in love, get married and have plans of starting their own family, although things are never that easy. Experiencing problems to conceive Jon goes to the doctor and discovers he has a low sperm count not wanting to believe he is to blame Jon turns on Wendy blaming her for being over weight which she isn't. Wendy is frustrated and annoyed Jon has to go on a business trip, Wendy thinks Jon is having an affair after reading a text message wrongly. Goes to a friends wedding and gets too extra friendly with one of the guests. Tina tells Wendy to keep the confusion over Williams dad a secret and Jon getting super excited about the pregnancy sees Wendy keeping her secret for years. While in town Wendy bumps into the Adonis from the wedding and things spiral and unravel quite quickly from there.
A heart warming tale about things that can go wrong in a split instance from a stupid decision. Although I didn't find myself having a emotional connection with this book which is why I only gave it 3 stars I am looking forward to reading another Pamela Fudge book again as I really did love her writing style. I would urge everyone to give Pamela Fudge books a go. I don't think you'll be disappointed
Happy reading everyone
2% in and it was bring situations in my earlier life back, I was hooked right from the start.
It is beautifully written. It works with suspected infertility and the events and insecurities that come about because of it.
It is story of the lives of Jon and Wendy, the deep love they have and their 'son' Will. The amazing support from their friends Callum and Tina; a very special bond between the two families, especially Tina and Wendy.
I am not saying anymore as I don't wish do spoilers - and if I say much more the complexities will become too apparent.
I just struggled to put the book down, partly because of my own experiences, but it is an absorbing and beautifully written story, even if you have not been involved in the type of events that weave through it - it is a wonderful story!
How does an author find the inspiration to write a book like this, that must ring true for so many people, it is as if Pamela had experienced it for herself and was writing from the heart!
I just do not have words to express about this fantastic book
This reminded me of something I'd watch on Jeremy Kyle. Whose the daddy. I think that's what puts it into reality for me as 'stuff' like this does happen.
Gladly not to me!
The two people came together after a tragic event that happened.
They fell in love and all they wanted was a baby.
But tests proved that his sperm count was low.
Like many men it affects their manly ego pride so he felt more comfortable blaming his wife.
Then the worse happens, she comes across a text message on his phone from a female.
Believing the worse she thinks two can play this game!
Ending up pregnant.
But who is the daddy.
One mistaken night of passion with a stranger.
Out one day with her child she bumps into "him"
I found this an easy book to get into and read. Easy to digest and keep tabs on.
The mistakes we make, the secrets we keep, eventually come back and bite us.
My thanks to Endeavour Press for my copy to read via Net Galley
