This book is excellent at teaching beginners. It starts off with basic features and recaps on java that is needed e.g. mouselistener. It teaches various things like animation, 3D, lighting, textures in an understandable way. It adds one new feature at a time to slowly build you up to a level where you can create your own jOGL applications. All new features are fully explained and diagrams are included.
The only problem is that jOGL has recently been updated so you will need to access the jOGL forums for up to date information, the links to the needed websites are also included in the book.
If you want to learn jOGL, I would definitely recommend getting this book.
