Product description

Leadersmithing is an approach that recognises that leading is a daily craft. Real leaders learn their craft the hard way: through critical incidents that test their mettle. The critical incidents are like apprentice-pieces, and create the necessary muscle-memory for leaders to lead well in the future. This card pack sets out 52 practices that can prepare you for them, week by week throughout the year. The research behind the Leadersmithing book identifies 17 Critical Incidents, like 'stepping up' or 'dealing with poor performance,' and the 52 cards are mapped to each critical incident. Grouped by suit, they can also be used to support your general leadership development. Clients have used them to create an action plan in response to a 360 feedback questionnaire, to address gaps in their inventory of the Emotional Intelligence competencies, and to work with a coach to address specific developmental challenges. The cards can be used without the Leadersmithing book on which they are based, although the book spells out the exercises in more detail and provides a full account of the research behind them. Standard Poker-sized playing cards (63.5mm x 88.8mm). Printed in full colour on 320gsm embossed playing card stock and plastic coated. The deck is cellophane-wrapped within a glossy full-colour tuck box.
