I loved this one. I don't always enjoy stories where the girl is doing the chasing and the guy doesn't seem interested, but it really worked in this because their chemistry simmered and grew until when the finally got it together, the payoff was incredible. I also wondered how a recovering addict could ever be a great romantic prospect when his back story is filled with deception, lies and selfish behaviour, but somehow, I was totally convinced.

Jimmy is a pampered rock star and a recovering addict. Lena is a straight talking, ordinary gal whom the band employs as Jimmy s sobriety companion. So she lives with him and gives him lots of sass and vinegar. She's crazy for him, he doesn't return her feelings but doesn't want her to leave, so he sets up a four point plan for her to follow, designed to convince her he's not all that great. That was a great, original twist on the friends to lovers style story.

Just like in previous books in this series, the banter is lively and witty and laugh out loud funny, but balanced with his very real struggle to stay sober and rebuild his self respect, so it's not just a fluffy read. Plenty of times I was reading with my heart in my mouth too, this story really delivered on the angst..

This could be read as a standalone, but with recurring characters. We also got lots of time with the rest of the band including Mal who's as hilarious as ever. This was a fab read in spite of its unpromising set up. Highly recommended.

Fab book really loved this one!!! This was the 3rd book in this set of stories and i must say they keep getting better and better.
The Stage Dive series has been a real hit with me I have not been doing any work i just got so into this book i was lost to the world.
I thought the way Kylie the author portrayed the relationship building between Jimmy anf Lena was really emotional as well as turbulent.
The banter, the arguements the apologies, the way it was done was spot on. I think out of the 3 books so far this was the book where you
really feel like you get to know the two main characters. It was frustrating and at the same time lovely to see the whole love affair unfold/ I loved the end as well it was just perfect. Now going to start on Ben and Lizzys story "Deep". i am shattered I have been reading till all hours of day and night
but it was such a good book and i have truly loved this Stage Dive set.

I'm a latecomer to the Stage Dive party - I only recently read Lick and Play, and I devoured them over two days, I couldn't read them fast enough. I loved David in Lick, he made me swoon, Mal made me laugh out loud in Play, but in both of those books Jimmy really didn't appeal to me at all.
I was still looking forward to reading Lead though, because I wanted to see if he would redeem himself, if Kylie Scott could make me like him. Well, she did more than that, she made me LOVE him! Move over David and Mal, Jimmy's in town!

Jimmy was a real douche in Lick - but in this book, we get to see what's underneath those layers, those carefully constructed walls that he has built up around himself. We get to see why he acts the way he does, and it ain't pretty. He's had a hard life, been the subject of a horrible upbringing with no love in his life apart from Mal's mother. Following events in Play (trying not to give spoilers if you haven't read it yet!) he's on a downward spiral, but luckily for him he has his sobriety companion Lena to keep him on the straight and narrow.

Lena - oh my Lena is brilliant!. She is so down to earth and normal, and says what she thinks. She isn't afraid to stand up to Jimmy, and doesn't stand for any of his BS. She's a girl after my own heart, she struggles with jogging and talking at the same time, she embraces her curves and thinks that having fruit pie counts as being healthy! I love her inner monologue, some of her quips had me in stitches, especially one towards the end - one minute I was struggling to read through my tears and the next I'm chuckling away. My heart went out to her many a time during this book, I really felt for her when she realised she was starting to have feelings for Jimmy.

I would have like to give this book 5* but I just felt the ending was a bit rushed. We have an incredibly slow build up to Jimmy and Lena 'getting it together' with some really good interaction between the two. Lena is a great female character and whilst Jimmy didn't come over positively in the first two books I really warmed to him in this one. I would have liked a bit more insight into Jimmy's perspective of events, I kept expecting at least one chapter to be from his point of view. I do love the series and in fairness 4 does not reflect my enjoyment of the book maybe 4.75!

Book 3 in the Stage Dive series tells the story of Jimmy (the lead singer of the band) and his sobriety partner/assistant Lena. Jimmy and Lena's working relationship is volatile at best, but it works, she is the only one that can keep him in check. When Lena quits her job admitting she has feelings for him, Jimmy does everything in his power to make her stay, even trying to find her a boyfriend to take her mind off him. They have so much sexual chemistry, and at points I so wanted to slap Jimmy upside the head, he wound me up so much. I think this may be my favourite so far, I also think it may be the most emotional, I cried quite a few tears, that said there were some real laugh out loud bits, and I really loved Jimmy.
