M.L. Steinbrunn really caught me off guard with Jen’s character as she unraveled this kickass lady over the course of her story. Jen was confident, fiercely protective, and unwaveringly loyal. She also happened to be scarred, incredibly vulnerable, and haunted by her past. M.L. Steinbrunn did an amazing job with how she carefully crafted each layer of this character, allowing readers to see her flaws and fears while maintaining her unbelievable strength. Jen came to life with Casen, their relationship making both characters tangible in a very genuine way. Casen is probably BBF perfection. The tattooed rocker with a beautiful heart, amazing patience, and indisputable kindness stole me away.
Jen and Casen are both stubborn. When these two willful personalities collide, the heat that M.L. Steinbrunn generates is absolutely scorching. Their witty banter, entertaining bets, and endless innuendos had me grinning and added some much needed levity to their story. M.L. Steinbrunn stirred up an entire spectrum of emotion from me with Lead Him Not Into Temptation, easily relaying the characters’ heartache and fears to the reader. The end of the book felt a little rushed, as their story progressed in time, but M.L. managed to keep me grounded with the additional gut-wrenching surprises she had up her sleeve. Lead Him Not Into Temptation was a great addition to the Redemption series and it is definitely one I would recommend to anyone who loves a good dose of angst, sizzling chemistry, and flirtatious banter.
Jennifer MacLauchlan is not a women who has had an easy life. She's damaged but does not remain destroyed... Been betrayed but remains loyal. She is a women of many secrets... Knowing no one would want her if her skeletons ever came out of the closet.
Casen Thompson is a man who left a whole other world behind him for music and refuses to take one look back. He's tattered but not torn... Trusts many but has little faith in very few. His love for music and desire to one day have a family he never had is the only two things holding his shattered soul together.
When these two volatile personalities collide, emotions erupt like wildfire, both forced to face what they have been running from.
I was one of many who signed up to become a Beta for M.L. Steinbrunn for this book... And I was chosen. I want to thank ML for such an awesome opportunity. You were so great and fun to work with and really took my suggestions into consideration.
I really enjoyed this read! Jen is a kick ass women who takes no s*** from anyone... Much like myself in ways. But she does have a past that in more ways than one is holding her back from moving on.
Casen is on the road to stardom. Everything he's always wanted just an arms length away. But when Jen walks into his life, she takes it by storm. Both of them start wanting more out of life... What they once wanted becoming a blur when a part of the past comes in to play... Effecting them both in more ways than one.
ML was great on taking my thoughts into her hands and caring about what I thought. She has the perfect concoction on making you fall for her characters. The hunky bad boy rockstar but underneath it all has a heart as soft as soft-serve ice cream... Just waiting to melt your panties off!
This is a great story of past and present and is shows us how easy it is for our pasts to effect our present and/or future... But only if you let it!
"This is man doing wicked things to me, and I don't know if I can resist the temptation much long."
Casen is a total rockstar hottie! And I have no doubt about the love you ladies will have for this hunk!
Lead Him Not Into Temptation is the second story in M.L. Steinbrunn's series, and is, in my opinion, even better than the first! I absolutely loved the pacing and flow of this story. Jen and Casen met, spent time together, got to know each other, and eventually trusted their most confidential secrets to one another, leading to a love that withstood the difficulty and drama still to come. The slow build of Casen and Jen's relationship allowed me to truly believe in their love for each other, and what a great love it was!
At times humorous and at times serious, LHNIT is a story chock full of feels. I loved the humorous banter between characters, but I also loved the serious conversations that led to a lasting love between two characters with difficult pasts.
"Our pasts are not who we are, they are events which have happened to us."
Like FUOT, LHNIT is a story of redemption. Two flawed characters found within each other honesty, love, and acceptance, which led them to move on from painful pasts into a bright and beautiful future.
There are so many parts of this book that I really loved. I absolutely ADORE the cover...it is SO great! The titles in this series are also captivating. I love that the male characters in Steinbrunn's novels are the first to want forever, the first to commit, and the first to say "I love you." This is such a unique feature that contributes to the appeal of Steinbrunn's characters and stories! There is conflict and there is pain, but there is also love and redemption, all of make for a truly fantastic book!
"She is what I've been waiting for...the weed amongst the flowers, the dandelion amongst the roses."

Jen is an independent spitfire and far from needy. I enjoyed the fact that her actions followed her thoughts; I've read quite a few books lately where the heroine thinks one thing and does the exact opposite. Our hero is in a rock band and is covered in tattoos, yet he is the one that wants settle down and start a family. While this may happen in real life, rarely do I see it in fiction. Usually the gorgeous rock star is a notorious man-whore that changes his ways for the right girl. Not Casen. His heart is in the right place from the start.
ML really hit home with Jen's sarcasm and dry humor which was fun. I found myself laughing more than once at both her dialogue and Casen's. I enjoyed the cameo appearances by characters from the first novel in this series, and I'm glad to know the group is still together and still friends. You can tell ML has children because her characterization of the kids in this story is spot on. When little Olivia paints herself while camping - priceless!
While LHNIT is a lot of fun, there are some serious moments. Jen's parents had my mouth hanging open and then, later on, the actions of her aunt had me dumbfounded. These events were huge. While the situations were believable, I felt the resolutions were tied up easy and pretty. If only real life could mirror fiction! The world would be a happier place.
Overall I thoroughly enjoyed LHNIT. ML Steinbrunn can weave a story, and I can't wait to see what is in store for Carly and Campbell.
