My mistake was I thought that I can get a specialized knowledge and advanced culinary techniques from a book that tries to address everything in the same time. The scope is broad but most recipes are complex yet they are covered in a few lines only. A professional book would dedicate a a few pages per project. It will cover less dishes but gives you better chances of success.
The photos are average. Hire a professional photographer next time. A chef with a Coolpix cannot take nice and flattering photos of his creations. Taking photos of dishes if a full time job!
Bottom line, I am not happy with this book. It's just sitting in my bookshelf and it will be there for years I guess.
